GENERAL VISA INFORMATION
In case any delegate of PRIMENEWS ENGLISH needs a visa to travel to Switzerland, please
find below the recommendations to follow in order to obtain a visa and attend the BID
International Convention for Quality, Excellence and Innovation in Geneva.
1. The attending persons should be high-ranking officers of PRIMENEWS ENGLISH, having
travelled abroad. It is important to send photocopies by email of visas obtained previously to the
U.S.A, U.K., Canada or Schengen countries (Europe). BID must receive your Visa Support Form
for up to a maximum of TWO delegates.
2. You should only make the application at the Consulate of Switzerland AFTER having obtained
the personalized letter of invitation from BID with your delegates' names, by email.
3. It is very urgent for you to plan ahead for your visa application to travel to Switzerland. In most
countries, the Swiss Consulate requires appointments for visa application to be made through
the internet on their web page or through an agency. Appointments must be scheduled far ahead
due to these requirements. You may find difficulties in obtaining an appointment in time.

4. You may need to apply for a seminar or conference visa which is sometimes the same form as
a business visa. In some Consulates a tourist visa will be appropriate.
(Note: A business visa would imply that you have business in Switzerland and must have an
invitation from a Swiss company. A tourist visa is usually sufficient to attend the convention).
5. However, it is essential to provide an address for your visit in Switzerland, which is the Hotel
Convention Hall address in Switzerland where BID is holding the Convention. In order to certify
this, you must present the hotel reservation provided by BID.
6. You must also present the personalized letter of invitation from BID, as the organizer of the
Convention. It will be prepared on the basis of the information which we receive when you send
back the BID Visa Support Form completed with your delegates' passport numbers, dates of birth
and dates of expiry of passports, with copies of previous visas.
7. Please tell us the appointment date you have at the Swiss Consulate by fax or email so that
BID can notify the Consulate regarding your application.
