Theme: Loyalty & Faithful

Its about the strong connection that Zorro (Don Diego Vega) has with his best friend: the
horse. The horse, always is in the most dangerous moments of Zorro, and he always help
him to escape from the soldiers and keep him safe.
For the contrary, its also about the treason, when there is a conflict between Captain
Ramon and the Governor because of the lie that Captain Ramon told to the Governor about
the treason of the Pulido family.

1. Just then, Don Carlos come back. Heres your food for the road, he said. But

No, Seor,cried Zorro. The soldiers from the fort will surely be here any

Explanation:
While Zorro was in the house of the Pulido family, Don Carlos call to the soldiers
for help, and Zorro knows that, so he escaped before the soldiers arrive, with the
help of his horse that was waiting for him.
2. Quick! To the prison! cried Gonzales. Theres a reward for the man who catches
Zorro!.
The soldiers at the fort heard the noise, too, and hurried down to the town at once.
By then, Zorro was on his horse with Seorita Lolita sitting in front of him.

Zorro, with the help of his horse, could escaped to the prison with Seorita Lolita
after pulled out her of the cell.

Explanation:
The governor discovered that Captain Ramn was disloyal with him, after that
Zorro did him confess the truth about the lied that he told him.

Motifs: Justice

It means that Zorro (Don Diego Vega) search and wants the good application of the system
of laws, preventing the corruption, the wrong judges and unfair punished people because of
the exploitation of the power people against the weak and poor. In such a way that he
punish to the bad people that in a bad way follows the rules.

4. Zorro! cried Gonzales. What are you doing here?
Four days ago you badly hurt a poor native near San Gabriel, answered Zorro in
his strong deep voice. So Ive come to teach you a lesson.

Zorro want to fight with Sergeant Gonzales because he unjustly hurt a poor native.

Los Angeles today for justice, but he hasnt paid me yet.

because you told false stories about him. You must pay for that. The outlaw took a
whip from under his cloak. He gave the merchant fifteen lashes, and his boy five

Explanation:
Zorro did his revenge, doing pay to the merchant for tell false stories to the
magistrate about a poor and innocent priest, just because of the money.
6. It began when I was fifteen, explained Don Diego. I felt angry when the
governors men hurt the weak and poor in Capistrano, and I decided to fight back. I
taught myself to use a sword and ride. I started wearing a mask, and called myself
Zorro. Chapter 8. Page 53. Lines 7 - 10.
Explanation:
Zorro explains that he want to do justice because of the bad actions of the power
people who hurt the weak and poor.

Symbols: Wine

This symbolizes the comfot. This alcoholic drink is always present when the caracters are
sat or angry because passed a tense moments of disagree or a conflict situation, like a fight
or the simple fact of not being able to catch Zorro.
Examples:
7. Inside the tavern in the town square. Sergeant Gonzales sat by the fire holding an
empty wine cup. Behind him, four more soldiers sat at a table drinking. Chapter 1.
Page 1. Lines 2, 3 and 4.
Explanation:
The wine was a medicine for the Sergeant when he was sat because of the difficulty
to catch Zorro.
8. My dear friend, said Don Diego, I came here for some quiet. With all this talk of
Zorro, Im afraid, Im going back to my house in town tomorrow.

Explanation:
Zorro arrived to the tavern for quiet, after he catch Captain Ramn reading a bad
letter that he wrote to the governor, and after ran of the soldiers.
9. Then Don Alejandro called for food and wine, and the young gentlemen sat down at
the table. Before they started, they put down their swords and guns, and servants
moved these to a far corner. Don Alejandro didnt want any trouble. Chapter 6.
Page 33. Lines 11 14.
Explanation:
The servants arrived to the Don Alejandros house to find Zorro, but how they didn
t found him, they were really sat while they were drinking wine.
