Paris attacks at a glance: Thursday's developments

By Eliott C. McLaughlin and Jethro Mullen, CNN

The article of CNN is about key details concerning the attacks that were done to Paris this past week.
According to their report, the suspected mastermind of the attack on Paris, a man named Abdelhamid
Abaaoud, died on Wednesday during a major police operation in one of the suburbs of the city. Even though
the mastermind is brought down, other key suspects are still at large at that the Belgian authorities are doing
their best in conducting fresh raids in order to capture those who are largely involved.

A captain with Paris police's Research and Investigation Brigade, which responded to Friday's attack
at the Bataclan Theatre, described in an interview with NBC the "hell on Earth" his team encountered in the
theater. Upon taking position at the theater, he said that numerous, several hundred people lay on the floor.
He stated that there were "Tons of bloods everywhere. No sound. Nobody was screaming ... and a lot of light
because it was like a concert." The people in the auditorium were lying motionless, he told NBC, "Because
they were afraid of the terrorist."

The article also mentioned a few more information that they managed to obtain. One of the
information they shared is that following the terror attacks in Paris, the FBI is now monitoring many people
who they think may pose the highest threat of attempting to copy the attack in the United States. The result
of their investigations showed that as of now, there is no relationship that exists between the Paris attackers
and anyone in the United States.

The article also stated that U.S. President Barack Obama has warned of the long road that lies ahead
in the global effort to defeat ISIS. "It's going to be a multiyear task," he said at a regional conference in the
Philippines. He also stated that "And we're not going to be able to fully succeed in eliminating their safe
havens until we have a political settlement of some sort in Syria."

As of now, the search for the accomplices of the mastermind of the terror attacks is still ongoing, but
this doesnt not mean that the enemy has already won. It is only the first step in achieving the global goal of
defeating ISIS.

After reading the article of CNN, I felt that the disaster that occurred in France is slowly being given
justice. Progress is slow, but at the very least, there is action being done in order to stop the terrorist. I fully
realized that the attack on Paris managed to bring both advantages and disadvantages. Namely the positive
thing about the attacks is that it managed to unite many world leaders in trying to stop the attacks on
innocents. It brought a global understanding of each other, an understanding that managed many countries
to put aside their differences.

The negative thing about the attacks is that due to the number of innocent lives that were lost during
the terror attacks, the government of France launched numerous attacks on Syria, bringing more innocent
live in danger. This brought more lives to be lost that be gained. Although I cannot blame the government of
France to do such an attack, it is the result of avenging what they lost.

For now, I hope that the investigation will be able to shine a light to how to solve and finally defeat
ISIS. It may take years, but in order for the world to become peaceful again, hard work and justice needs to
be given. I hope the day when all of this will be over is coming soon. We all are hoping and praying for the
same thing: Bring Justice to the people who lost their lives and Bring Safety to our generation.
