taped line, following simple directions.
Essential Vocabulary: Crawl, walk, through
Assessment:
Teachers will observe students while they are going through the course to see if
they can demonstrate all of the physical activities.
Student Considerations:
Instructional Resources, Materials, and Technology:
Two card board boxes, yellow masking tape, balloons
PROCEDURES:
-

The Beginning (a.k.a. Anticipatory Set): (Specify time)

Set up the obstacle course by places the two boxes right next to each
other than place tape on the ground after the boxes, then place
blown up balloons at the end of the tape, next make a finish line at
the end with the tape. Next explain what the children are to do at
each part of the course. They crawl through the boxes and walk
along the line, then they will place the balloon between their legs
and try and walk to the end of the course.
The Middle: (Specify time)
- Have the students form two lines in front of the boxes, next let
two students run through the course at a time and have each of

them wait till the person in front of them has reached the finish
line.
The End (a.k.a. Closing): (Specify time)
- The students can line up again if they would like to go through the
course again.
Teacher Reflection on Practice (following the lesson):
1. What evidence did you collect to show your students attained todays
objective(s)? Please explain how you know which students did and did not
master your objectives. Use formative assessment data to support your claims
regarding the portion of students who did and did not master the learning
objective(s).
- After observing the students I saw that all of them mastered the objectives
that were set for this lesson, they all were able to walk on the line painted
crawl through the boxes, there was trouble with the balloons however that
was because the balloons kept popping on from touching the grass.
2. Based on the result of your assessment, what will you do tomorrow? Can you
go ahead as planned or will you need to reteach concepts from todays
lesson? (Explain how you will reteach and/or connect and feed forward.)
- I will put the boxes around the class room or outside so they can still crawl
through them.
3. If you have to teach this lesson again, what might you do the same and what
might you do differently?
I would have the students crab walk or do another activity besides the balloon
walk because it was hard for them to keep from popping the balloons.
