Directing Define
Refers to the task of working with and through people to accomplish
organizational goals
DIRECTING FUNCTION
Leadership considered to be one of the most important behavioral
roles exercised by managers in their efforts to make organizations
perform.
Communication process by which the management functions of
planning, organizing, directing and controlling are accomplished.
Motivation process by which the leader influence people to follow for
possible gain of reward or satisfaction.
LEADERSHIP
The process of directing and influencing the task-related activities of
group members.

motivates their subordinates to rely to him for their satisfaction.
3. DEMOCRATIC LEADER thrive on consultation with the subordinates who
are encouraged to participate in planning, decision making and others.
- Leader delegates a great deal of authority while retaining ultimate
responsibility.

4. LAISSEZ-FAIRE LEADER tends to get result completely from subordinates.


- Leader grants responsibility and authority to group.

CONTINGECY THEORY
According to Fred E. Fiedler contingency theory comes from the
following assumptions:

influence the leader can successfully accomplish the job.

the task or on having close supportive relations with others.
PATH-GOAL THEORY
A derivative of expectancy motivation theory.
According to Robert House and Terence Mitchell leaders can enhance
motivation by providing clear goals and meaningful incentives for
reaching them.
