PROPOSED STRUCTURAL SYSTEM

1.1

Gravity Load Resisting System

The structural system for gravity loads (dead loads, live loads and any other
equipment loads), will be beams columns and reinforced concrete slabs. The
gravity loads on the reinforced concrete slab will be transmitted to the columns
through beams, then from column to the foundations.

1.2

Lateral Load Resisting System

Wind and earthquake loads will be transmitted to the foundations through a system
of rigid floor diaphragm, shear walls and columns.

STRUCTURE

6.1

Design Procedure:

6.2

The building will be reinforced concrete beam column frame. Solid slab
system will be provided depending upon the spans configuration. The
primary material for structural construction of the building is reinforced
concrete.

The grade beams and grade slabs will be provided at the ground level for
distribution of loads to the foundations and natural ground respectively.

Building foundations will be designed as isolated or combined type or as

advised by geotechnical report. The depth and sizes of the foundations
will be based on the structure reactions, at foundation level.

All applicable codes and specifications mentioned in the design criteria

will be followed.

The building structures will be analyzed through computer software such

as ETABS.

STRUCTURAL MODELING AND DESIGN:

The structure will be modeled in 3D, beams and columns will be

represented by frame elements, one way and two way slabs will be
represented by shell elements.

The self weight of one way and two way slabs and all other structural
elements will be calculated automatically by the program in the case (DL)
with self weight multiplier equal to 1.

Design calculations for all structural components will be as per relevant

codes and specifications as listed in the design criteria.
