About the author

The author was born in Dublin, Ireland. As a child she was a

devoted book lover; her earliest influences were Enid Blyton and
Beatrix Potter.
In her own writing she endeavours to combine the magical
mischievous element of Enid with the nostalgic animal loving
nature of Beatrix, whilst at the same time basing the story on
realistic true life events.
She enjoys movies, travelling, digital photography and reading.
Being an avid animal lover, Lin writes about her own fluffy
friends and their experiences in her stories. Her favourite quote
is; Start by doing what is necessary, then do whats possible,
and suddenly you are doing the impossible, St Francis of
Assisi.

I dedicate this book to my beautiful daughter Victoria,

remembering the times she spent with her very first pet, the
Cavalier King Charles, Princess.

Prologue
Once upon a time not so long ago, in a little cottage high in the
Dublin mountains, there was an air of excitement.
The birds were tweeting the news that something wonderful
had happened; three tiny little puppies were born. These
Cavalier King Charles puppies had silky smooth black, white
and tan coloured coats and huge big brown eyes.

There is always one puppy far better than all the others
with perfect markings! Two of them followed each other in
circles like silly sheep but one clever puppy trotted away from
them to explore the farmyard, leaving her cosy bed of hay to
breathe in the fresh smelling soft green grass on the mountains.
Mommy King Charles was a high pedigree dog so it was
no surprise that she named her most special baby Princess.
This adorable tricolour puppy was of course me!
