Amateur radio operator Mike Fransen connects with an amateur radio operator in another country.

Local club celebrates 16 years of Skywarn Recognition Day

The
annual
Skywarn
Recognition Day event is hosted
by the National Weather Service
to honor the many amateur radio
operators that support hazardous
weather operations around the
United States.
Since 2000, the Valley County

Amateur Radio Club has been

participating in a 24-hour-long
amateur radio event, reaching
across the country, and even around
the globe! They average over 200
contacts during the event, and reach
about 40 of the 110 National Weather
Service offices that participate.

The Valley County Amateur

Radio Club have made contacts
with other amateur radio operators
in Germany, Canada, Curacao,
Monserrat, Wake Island, and five
times have reached Guantanamo
Bay, Cuba.

President Obama was overseas last week joining other

world leaders in Turkey for the G-20 summit. Which is
unusual, because normally when people are gathered
around Turkey debating Obama, its just a bunch of drunk
uncles at Thanksgiving. Jimmy Fallon
Governor Chris Christie said in an interview yesterday that
New Jersey would not accept Syrian refugees. Which is too
bad, because Syrian refugees would be the first people ever
to arrive in New Jersey and say, Hey, this is MUCH better!

Sierra Caitlyn Hanger, age

23, of Glasgow, Montana
passed away Sunday,
November 29, 2015 at
Frances Mahon Deaconess
Hospital.
Sierra
was
born
October 5, 1992 in
Plentywood,
Montana
to Keith and Jan Hanger.
She moved to Glasgow at the age of 12 with Dennis
and Connie Wethern and became involved with HiLine Home Programs. She loved to listen to music,
go shopping, and go cruising in the car. When Sierra
shopped there was not one thing that she didnt want to
grab and buy.
In January of 2015, Sierra moved into to Warren
Group Home which she dearly loved. There was nothing
better for her than to be surrounded by all her friends
who she cherished. Sierra will always be remembered
for her brilliant smile and joyous giggles. She looked just
like her mother when smiling. Even with her disabilities
limiting her, Sierra always lived life to the fullest and
could light up any room. Sierra will be forever in our
hearts.
Sierra is preceded in death by her mother Jan
(LaSalle) Hanger. She is survived by her father, Keith
Hanger of Belgrade, MT; sister, Danielle Hanger of
Bozeman, MT; half-brother, Joshua Hanger and a halfsister Samantha Hanger both of Belgrade, MT; extended
family, Connie (Dennis) Wethern, Marc Wethern,
Keirsten Wethern, Jeremiah Wethern, Lucas Wethern,
Isaiah Devereaux, Stephanie Wright all of Glasgow, MT;
and Devin Booth of Kalispell, MT.
An open visitation will take place on Thursday,
December 3, 2015 from 9:00 AM till 5:00 PM at Bell
Mortuary in Glasgow, Montana. Funeral Services will
be held Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the
Bell Mortuary in Glasgow, Montana. Following services
there will be chocolate milk and Christmas cookies
served at Bell Mortuary as they were Sierras favorite.

Memorials have been established with Milk River Inc.
Burial will be held at Pleasant Prairie Lutheran Church
in Flaxville, Montana at a later date. Bell Mortuary of
Glasgow is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may
be made at bellmortuarymontana.com.

Of course there is a menu that covers a little bit
of everything appetizers such as crab cakes and

burgers and a good variety of sandwiches, and entrees
such as Cajun Surf & Turf, pasta dishes, seafood,
even desserts in case youre not ready for a FRACATTACK.

Theres also a full bar with drink specialties such as

Music by Dudley and the Deadbeats

Laid to rest
in Hinsdale

If you recall the story in

the Friday, September
18th edition of the Buzz
about a skeleton being
found in the Glasgow
Odd Fellows Hall while
being cleaned out, the
Valley County Sheriff
Office finally got the okay
from anthropologists to
bury it. Whats more,
another skeleton was
discovered
at
the
Glasgow Odd Fellows
shortly after the first
one turned up! Proper
burial took place in the
Hinsdale
Cemetery.
Reason for this is no
vault was required, unlike
the Highland Cemetery.
So cost of the burial
was
much
cheaper,
according to Sheriff Glen
Meier. Doris Tollefson
gave a graveside service
to the unknowns. May
they finally rest in peace.
