ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
OBJECTIVE: Seeking position in medium-to-large sized company requiring
leadership and hands-on experience.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, Civilian, Electrical Engineer – USAF 1989 – 2002

MATURE AND PROVEN AIRCRAFT DIRECTORATE, HILL AFB, UT (2001 - 2002)
• Researched viability, procured modules, and coordinated on-site training
for IsSPICE circuit simulation software for our electrical engineers
• Provided electronics support for existing electronics on the German F-4
aircraft

ELECTRONIC WARFARE GROUP, WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, OH (1996 - 2001)

• Promoted to Project Engineer of two Air Force electronic countermeasures
Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) projects, wrote a Success Story
subsequently published and distributed throughout the Air Force SBIR
program worldwide
• As a project engineer over SBIR projects, led one Phase II Threat Detector
project to fly prototype successfully against several foreign targets
• Created drawings with AutoCAD which facilitated large-scale combining of
areas thus enabling our office to save about $100K/yr in associated costs

COMPRESSOR RESEARCH FACILITY (CRF), WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, OH (1993 - 1996)

• Promoted to Lead Instrumentation Engineer
• Designed first full application of ultrasonic flow measurement which
yielded true repeatability and accuracy to +/-0.01 G.P.M., thereby totally
eliminating turbine flow meter downtime and saving an average of about
$30,000 per test
• Designed vacuum system support for and engineered installation of advanced
chilled mirror dew point monitoring system, resulting in measurements more
reliable and more accurate than the prior lithium chloride based system
• Wrote Data Engineer's Manual to standardize common procedures and to
clarify operation of measurement systems, maintain present systems, and
to streamline training; resulted in about a 50% decrease in test setup
time and unprecedented clarity in CRF documentation

FLIGHT DYNAMICS LABORATORY, WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB, OH (1990 - 1993)

• As Project Engineer for Laser Light-Sheet Flow Visualization program,
designed unique order n-digit counters for mirror and platform placement
• Through innovative application of AutoCAD, integrated electrical and
mechanical efforts which cut drafting time by nearly 75% and machining
time by about 50%
• Designed and supervised construction and installation of programmable
climatic protection systems for computer rooms, thus eliminating related
computer failures
• Wrote control program, laid out switch panel, and designed application
hardware for automation of 3000-pound test cabin door, expediting testing
and increasing safety
• Conceived, designed, and supervised installation of smoke stream
positioning actuator system, thereby totally improving prior manual stream
controls

MIT DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION, Design Engineer - Norwalk, CT 1988 - 1989

• Designed & constructed analog strain-based respiration tester for wireless
mobile patient monitor, resulting in nearly 25% improvement of sensitivity
• Designed, developed, & constructed automated digital calibrator and tester
for assembly-line matching of optical transmitters to mating receptors in
glucose meters, resulting in increased accuracy by as much as 50%
• Utilized OrCAD schematic capture for all analog and digital designs, PADS
PCB for all printed circuit board layouts, and AutoCAD for drafting
assembly drawings in all phases of digital and analog circuit design, thus
simplifying retrofits and decreasing tooling and engineering delays

RELIANCE ELECTRIC, Controls Engineer - Cleveland, OH 1987

• Trained on the design of existing programmable logic controller
electronics, related controller dynamics, and ladder-logic programming

WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY, Technician - Pullman, WA Grad - 1987

• Promoted to soil physics technician on results of time domain reflectometer
investigation of aggregate stability of soils from various types of farming
• All data analyses saved on an IBM PC, then transferred data via an IRMA
interface to University mainframe computer
