Easter Prayer
God our Father, by raising Christ your Son
you conquered the power of death
and opened for us the way to eternal life.
Let our celebration today raise us up
and renew our lives by the Spirit that is within us.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Mass of Thanksgiving
Those who were initiated into the Roman Catholic Church
at Easter and those who were received into full communion,
their families, sponsors, godparents and friends are cordially
invited to a Eucharistic celebration at St. Michael's
Cathedral on: Wednesday, April 14th, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. His
Grace, Thomas Collins will preside and preach at this
Eucharist of Thanksgiving.
O’Connor Project Update
For several years you may have heard various
announcements about the O’Connor Group meetings here
at Our Lady of Sorrows, with occasional events such as
the popular “CELTIC Sunday Afternoon”. Their aim and
goal was to save Sen. Frank O’Connor’s home from
demolition.
This month, at an Ireland Fund luncheon, Minister Jim
Flaherty announced a government grant of $2.1 million
towards the restoration of this estate. This is good news
for the O’Connor Group’s hard work over the years.
Frank O’Connor, who died in 1939, was a committed
Catholic layman of his era, unambiguously Catholic, and
generous to his Catholic Institutions. Restoring his home
honours his memory.
I especially wish to thank those parishioners, who from
the beginning, believed in and supported this worthy
project. Their support and hard work has allowed the
O’Connor name and the O’Connor project to remain on
many minds. Thank You! Fr. Nino
