Field Maintenance
CAUTION
To ensure that a cabinet can run outdoors stably for a long time, comply with the following
principles during field maintenance:
l
Prevent rain or snow from falling onto the inner surface of the device (including the front
panel of the subscriber board), from falling onto cables, or falling into apertures when the
cabinet door is open.
Do not open the cabinet door in heavy dust. If dust enters the cabinet, the service life of the
components will be affected seriously.
It is recommended to open the cabinet door to maintain the device only when the temperature
is in the range from -5C to +35C. In this way, the device can be protected from dew
condensation or impact of extreme temperature.
Exercise caution when opening the cabinet door in case of strong wind. A strong wind may
cause the cabinet door to be opened or closed fiercely. This is dangerous to the maintenance
engineer and may damage the device. Use the cabinet support pin to fix the cabinet door in
a specified position, to avoid injury and damage.

Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the key matches the cabinet door lock: The device compartment and the
temperature control compartment adopt the key to the A-type lock, and the MDF compartment
adopts the key to the B-type lock. In addition, the original keys delivered with the cabinet must
be used.
If the key does not match the lock, use the matching key: The device compartment and the
temperature control compartment of the cabinet use the HW-2801 lock, and the MDF
compartment uses the HW-2801B lock. The keys of these two types of locks are different, as
shown in Figure 3-1.
Figure 3-1 Appearance of the door lock
If the door lock is normal, flap the cabinet door with a strong force. Use the key to open the
door lock, and insert a flat-head screwdriver into the gap of the lock handle, and then pry it
outward (be sure to repaint the cabinet). At the same time, rotate the key in the OPEN
direction. In this way, the cabinet door can be opened.
If the door lock is rusty or damaged, pry the door lock and replace it with a new one.

Fault Analysis
l
After installation, the cabinet is not powered on and is placed in the outdoor or damp
environment. In the long-term condition of heat and humidity, a pressure difference is
formed between the inside and the outside of the cabinet. Water vapor condenses inside
the cabinet, thus causing condensation at the top inside the cabinet.
The cable apertures of the MDF compartment are not properly sealed, the sealing tap on
the cabinet is damaged, or the cabinet door is not properly closed. The rain water cannot
be drained after entering the cabinet, thus causing condensation inside the cabinet.
Procedure
Step 1 After installing the outdoor cabinet, check whether the desiccant is available inside the device
compartment of the cabinet.
After the installing the outdoor cabinet, the field maintenance engineer takes the desiccant out
of the container bag and places the desiccant inside the device compartment of the cabinet.
Step 2 When the cabinet is powered on, be sure to check whether condensation occurs inside the cabinet.
If any dew exists, deal with the dew in one of the following methods:
l
Start the heat exchanger or heat dissipation fan (if they are configured) to speed up the
vaporization of the dew. Under such circumstances, do not close the cabinet door.
If the heat exchanger or heat dissipation fan is not configured, open the door to vaporize the
dew through the wind or sunlight.
WARNING
When wiping the dew, take certain measure to prevent the dew from entering the device.

Procedure
Step 1 Check whether the working environment temperature of the cabinet is normal.
If the alarm is generated because the actual environment temperature is high, the following
operations are not required.
Step 2 Check according to Table 3-1 whether the configuration parameters for system power
monitoring are appropriate.
Run the display power environment info command to query the environment humidity, run
the display power environment parameter command to query the configured environment

Step 3 After the cabinet installation, field maintenance engineers should check whether the LOAD2
MCB of the power supply and the MCB of the heat exchanger are turned on, and whether the
DC power cable of the heat exchanger is connected properly. If either the MCB is turned off or
the DC power cable is not connected properly, the heat exchanger cannot work normally, causing
an abnormal temperature.
If the MCB is turned off or the cable is not connected properly, connect the cable properly and
turn on the MCB.
Step 4 If the high-temperature alarm and power-off problem occurs, check whether the fan for the air
circulation of the heat exchanger is faulty and stops rotation, and whether the air ventilator of
the shutter of the cabinet temperature control compartment is blocked.
l
Check according to Table 3-2 whether the fans rotate in the normal state.

Procedure
Step 1 Check on site whether the vent of the device is blocked by sundries, whether fans are damaged,
and whether too much dust exists on fans and boards.
l
Remove and clean the fan and the board if too much dust is accumulated.
Step 2 Check whether any structural part around the fan is loose.
If any structural part is loose, handle it in time.
Step 3 Check whether the power of the configured boards exceeds the maximum power of the cabinet.
If the power of the configured boards exceeds the maximum power of the cabinet, configure the
cabinet properly.

Procedure
Step 1 Table 3-3 lists the line numbers of the power monitoring transfer box of the cabinet sensor and
the names displayed on the host. If any alarm is found, the field maintenance engineer determines
which sensor generates the alarm according to Table 3-3, and then checks on site to locate the
fault (abnormal temperature, damage to the device, or cabinet door being opened).
