E- WASTE IN EUROPE
Europeans are upgrading their mobile phones, computers, televisions, audio equipment and printers
more frequently than ever before. Unfortunately, the majority just throw their old electronic products
in the rubbish. This bad habit of not recycling is causing a lot of dangerous problems to the
environment and to our bodies because the chemicals and heavy metals use to make electronics
products arent biodegradable and are extremely toxic. Recent statistics have shown that Europe
generates 10.3 million tones of electronic waste a year. To reduce the dangerous impact of e waste
on the environment, many computer and mobile phone companies have started recycling schemes
making it easier to dispose of old computers, mobile phones, accessories and batteries.
