Design powertrain calibration process for torque based control system, including field testing, for
developing SIDI CNG kit for retrofit on Class 8 trucks with Cat C-15 TC Diesel engines to meet
and exceed the performance, fuel economy, emissions and drivability of the current diesel
engine.
Work with combustion specialist and engine calibration engineer on combustion strategy, power
and torque curve mapping, turbo mapping, DOE spark, SOI, AFR sweeps and mapping process
for dyno testing and base calibration mapping utilizing proprietary new injector technology.
Review control system model in Matlab/Simulink with controls engineers and recommend
changes to model for improved function. Assist controls engineers with HIL bench testing.
Ran first retrofit CNG kit on test truck for initial engine startup, idling and running using ATI Vision,
