Introduction

It approaches both the mind and the heart - not as human
organs, but rather as a personal spiritual environment
through which we can make the shift from survivor to
conqueror.

The OYIS Diagram
7
Consider for a moment the internal conflict that often
prevents us from executing the suggestions of the mind
when the heart is inclined toward a different passion.
The example I usually give shows that having God in our
minds does not prevent our trespasses if carnal desires
reside in our hearts. And, in the reverse of the same, we
can hardly heed the carnal suggestion of the mind when
God rules our hearts. I would dare to declare that the
heart is in fact the throne of the soul; and whatever rules
there overcomes that which resides in the mind.

3 Essential Components
A Strong Soul

and physical activities that are self-centered or promote
excessive personal pleasure, the soul is gradually
weakened until no vestige of glory remains. In its weak
state, it renders the individual spiritually dysfunctional as
the internal crisis spills out into external circumstances.
A Visual Destination

of a destination visible to the soul and broadcasted as
faith through the posture of the individual.

OYIS introduces ten virtues that serve as a plan of
progress for every believer. These virtues, when
combined with the preceding two OYIS components, help
the individual achieve the spiritual wholeness the
Scriptures intended. They include in this order: personal
outreach, prayer, love, hope, faith, transformation,
purpose, peace, joy and spiritual alignment. While some
are essential to prior components also, they serve an
advanced significance during the therapeutic path of
spiritual progress and individual success.

4 Key Disciplines
Mental Transformation
Improving who you are by improving how you think.
13
being, we should be strategic to the point that we use our
thoughts to catch up to the standard God has for us. We
have to learn to think as the person we are intended to be
and not as the incomplete person we are currently. The
thinking habit will influence unstrained actions that reveal
the true state of the mind. So, if you get in the habit of
thinking good, you will one day pause to realize that you
are growing in goodness.
Fruitful Commitments
Understanding choices and decisions in light of purpose.
Spiritual Alignment
Positioning for success in God’s divine will.
15
circumstances. Consider the person who in the heat of
rage takes a life and thereby sentences himself to internal
torment; understanding that his action is irreversible.
Although he might one day survive the physical
incarceration, the life he took will ever be a thorn in his
soul.
Conscious Rejuvenation
Experiencing periodic Sabbaths to renew strength.

OYIS and the Christian Journey
19
The first step on the path of Christian progress is
salvation. Here salvation means accepting by faith the
sacrifice of Christ who offered himself as atonement for
our sins. Of course, traditional Christianity teaches that
repentance, baptism and Holy Spirit possession is
collectively the plan of salvation. OYIS agrees with this
teaching.
20
The final step on the path of Christian progress is the call
to heaven broadcasted to an individual at the place of
destiny. I dare to say that though we all have an
appointment with death, not everyone receives the high
call. The high call has a vertical frequency and is
considered a prize for reaching the mark of destiny. For
which cause, Paul acknowledged the need to press
towards that mark to realize his hopes of receiving it.
