Introduction

Organize Your Inner Space (OYIS) is a Christian-

based approach to soul therapy. The strategies introduced
come from more than 20 years of spiritual research:
analyzing human tendencies against the principles
established in the Holy Bible to understand how the
average person can approach holistic living with decreased
difficulty.

OYIS is not a counseling program, nor does it boast of

roots in the mental health disciplines of psychology and
psychiatry. Instead, it is a coaching program with concepts
that the average person can validate and apply everyday.

5
It approaches both the mind and the heart - not as human
organs, but rather as a personal spiritual environment
through which we can make the shift from survivor to
conqueror.

6
The OYIS Diagram

Understanding the OYIS diagram will help you appreciate

the 3 essential components and 4 key disciplines the OYIS
concept emphasizes. It begins with defining the soul as
the realm of the mind in which the spiritual heart of the
individual is housed. It is the unique function of the soul
to manage intellect, emotion and will in context to its
divine purpose. In fact, it is so important that if it were
ever to be separated from the “earthsuit”, what remains
would be useless to both God and humanity.

7
Consider for a moment the internal conflict that often
prevents us from executing the suggestions of the mind
when the heart is inclined toward a different passion.
The example I usually give shows that having God in our
minds does not prevent our trespasses if carnal desires
reside in our hearts. And, in the reverse of the same, we
can hardly heed the carnal suggestion of the mind when
God rules our hearts. I would dare to declare that the
heart is in fact the throne of the soul; and whatever rules
there overcomes that which resides in the mind.

8
3 Essential Components

The OYIS concept calls for a strong soul with a visual

destination, executing a strategic plan of progress towards
a divine mark that is uniquely ours to reach and a success
that is as certain as our faith. Since we have briefly
defined the soul as encompassing the mind and the heart,
we can observe the importance of the three essential
components that serve as milestones of individual success.

A Strong Soul

Every living person was designed to function from the

strength of the soul. However, the soul is only as strong
as the company it keeps. The more we engage in mental

9
and physical activities that are self-centered or promote
excessive personal pleasure, the soul is gradually
weakened until no vestige of glory remains. In its weak
state, it renders the individual spiritually dysfunctional as
the internal crisis spills out into external circumstances.

OYIS recognizes that the next step to wholeness - after

accepting Christ - is soul reconstruction and therapy. It
does not assume reconstruction as automatic in the
moment of acceptance; but rather, as now possible for
the person who continues the process of salvation with
application of divine principles. These principles of
reconstruction targets a weak soul, extracting the germ of
carnality from the heart and rebuilding the defenses of
the same to withstand inevitable daily attacks. And then,
through a therapeutic process of spiritual disciplines, the
strength of the soul is gradually restored.

A Visual Destination

We can hardly keep the soul strong without committing it

to divine purpose. It all goes back to the common truth
that we each were created to accomplish a unique mission
and must complete that mission to avoid existential
failure. When we talk about organizing the inner space,
we must reserve room for the inscription of destiny that
we need to inspire our efforts. This inscription should be

10
of a destination visible to the soul and broadcasted as
faith through the posture of the individual.

OYIS uses a biblical method of “proving” the will of God to

empower people to gain their visual destination. It guides
the individual into a personal exchange with God to
receive divine insight apart from the supplemental
theories of man. It ensures that the individual benefits
from all authorized agents without becoming critically
dependent upon any for final comprehension of their God-
given purpose.

A Strategic Plan of Progress

When there exists a strong soul with a visual destination,

still, God does not require perfection; but rather,
progress. We must begin moving forward to birth into the
world through our existence the very purpose that has
been defined in us. Our knowledge of this purpose with a
strategic plan of progress will reward us with immediate
and long-term success. Immediate success will come in
the form of an undeterred fixation of the mark and
momentum. Our long-term success will be realized upon
reaching the mark from which the call to heaven can be
heard.

11
OYIS introduces ten virtues that serve as a plan of
progress for every believer. These virtues, when
combined with the preceding two OYIS components, help
the individual achieve the spiritual wholeness the
Scriptures intended. They include in this order: personal
outreach, prayer, love, hope, faith, transformation,
purpose, peace, joy and spiritual alignment. While some
are essential to prior components also, they serve an
advanced significance during the therapeutic path of
spiritual progress and individual success.

12
4 Key Disciplines

When we look back on the OYIS diagram, the four key

disciplines that brace the soul are of great significance.
These are an expansion of - and in some cases
supplemental to - those introduced in traditional
Christianity. They are, however, focused disciplines that
ensure progress as opposed to the challenge of being
spiritual without a target.

Mental Transformation
Improving who you are by improving how you think.

OYIS agrees with teachings that correctly admonish people

to guard their thoughts. But since thinking defines the

13
being, we should be strategic to the point that we use our
thoughts to catch up to the standard God has for us. We
have to learn to think as the person we are intended to be
and not as the incomplete person we are currently. The
thinking habit will influence unstrained actions that reveal
the true state of the mind. So, if you get in the habit of
thinking good, you will one day pause to realize that you
are growing in goodness.

The OYIS concept views this discipline as transcendent to

the essential components. It is applicable to all three
and, therefore, should be embraced and practiced at all
times. The day when the work of self improvement
through mental transformation should cease, is the day
when we have been called from this life to the eternal
presence of God.

Fruitful Commitments
Understanding choices and decisions in light of purpose.

Few people who attempt to make personal improvements

seem to get this one right. It is through decisions that I
acquire or transfer power over myself. If the decision is
to consume a certain food or beverage, I am giving that
product power to affect my body for better or for worse.
Although it might taste good, it might not be healthy; and
therefore I could become a casualty of something good
that was…well, not for me.
14
The OYIS concept inspires you to weigh all decisions
against your purpose to ensure that the results will have
made some substantial contribution to the destiny to
which you are headed. If you come across a worthy
decision that calls you from your ordered path, match that
decision with the right person headed in that direction;
and you keep pressing on. Only in this way, will you
present yourself before God having fulfilled that which
you were designed to accomplish.

Spiritual Alignment
Positioning for success in God’s divine will.

As individuals caught up in a very busy world, we can

easily lose sight of the purpose God has for us; but God
never will. That is why spiritual alignment is the best way
to abide in the security God’s will. And, it is achieved by
maintaining an open spiritual channel while traveling the
road of destiny in step with God. To ensure you don’t
confuse the maintenance of a spiritual channel with being
“super righteous”, it simply means to maintain a God-
consciousness as well as a sensitivity to His directives.

The OYIS concept promotes this discipline as crucial to all

believers. Misalignment for a moment can cost you years
of progress; or worse, depending on the surrounding

15
circumstances. Consider the person who in the heat of
rage takes a life and thereby sentences himself to internal
torment; understanding that his action is irreversible.
Although he might one day survive the physical
incarceration, the life he took will ever be a thorn in his
soul.

Conscious Rejuvenation
Experiencing periodic Sabbaths to renew strength.

We all understand the body’s insistence upon proper rest,

but seldom do we acknowledge the importance of pulling
away to renew the soul. When the soul is deprived of
rest, it gets weak and vulnerable; and in a matter of time,
will become dysfunctional. Conscious rejuvenation is the
act of intentionally distracting the soul from the daily task
of living and reclining it towards the pleasure of positive
reflection. As the cycle of reflection concludes, the joy
that God provides will become the strength for forward
progress.

The OYIS concept insists that this discipline, like the

others, is always practiced. Even when you feel like you
are not tired spiritually, your mission could greatly benefit
from you taking this rest. As a norm, we plan for what we
believe it will take to complete a project; but in the
providence of God, we are built up for obstacles we didn’t
even consider.
16
So, it is through these 3 essential components and 4 key
disciplines that we all can claim healing and gain
momentum in our pursuit of the good destiny intended for
us by God.

17
18
OYIS and the Christian Journey

OYIS does not compete with nor replace the traditional

teachings found in Christianity. In fact, it complements
the Christian journey by addressing the under-emphasized
transition from accepting Christ to becoming Christian.
Let’s consider for a moment the path of Christian
Progress.

19
The first step on the path of Christian progress is
salvation. Here salvation means accepting by faith the
sacrifice of Christ who offered himself as atonement for
our sins. Of course, traditional Christianity teaches that
repentance, baptism and Holy Spirit possession is
collectively the plan of salvation. OYIS agrees with this
teaching.

Next, for traditional Christianity, is living in the example

of Christ – the essence of being a Christian. It is assumed
that a saved person is instantly able to accomplish this
model life because the Holy Spirit will “make us live
right”. Unfortunately, this is not true. The Holy Spirit
does not force righteousness neither does it extract our
carnal cravings. It will, however, empower us to choose
right and resist evil if we so desire.

In light of this, there is something else that is required to

enable us to best benefit from the presence and work of
the Holy Spirit. The old term for what we call OYIS is
“wholeness”. We need to be made whole (to be healed)
in our inner space, our soul. After salvation, should come
healing in order that we will have a real ability to move in
the power of the Spirit to emulate Christ. OYIS is all
about this healing and, as such, is a complement to – not a
detraction from – traditional Christianity.

20
The final step on the path of Christian progress is the call
to heaven broadcasted to an individual at the place of
destiny. I dare to say that though we all have an
appointment with death, not everyone receives the high
call. The high call has a vertical frequency and is
considered a prize for reaching the mark of destiny. For
which cause, Paul acknowledged the need to press
towards that mark to realize his hopes of receiving it.

21
22
Conclusion

As most believers may recall, on the day we accepted

Christ, we were so far off from being like him. And, even
now, most of us are still struggling to become. That's
because reading your bible and prayer does little good
without mental transformation, fruitful commitments,
Spiritual alignment and conscious rejuvenation. These
disciplines applied effectively will support a strong soul,
its visual destination and its strategic plan of progress.

OYIS is pleased to coach you in these areas. Not only will

you become a spiritual conqueror, but you will also build a
humanity that adds credibility to spirituality.
