Dear Andrew Letter

This paper was the first writing assignment we have had in this course.
Therefore, it will also be the start of my portfolio. This paper introduces me as a student
and who I am outside of school. I learned what sort of writing I would be doing this
semester and how to properly write about myself during this assignment.
Confidentiality Statement
This document represented the start of our practicum. I had to take responsibility
and make sure all things for my practicum were set and in order before I began my
study. Having this document signed signified that everything was ready for me to begin.
I learned what was needed to be done when interviewing a person or place to ensure
that everything works out right.
Bitch Session
This assignment was given to us to complain about all our issues at the point of
midterms. I wanted to include this because it was a pretty fun assignment and I learned
a lot from it. I learned how to re-word papers depending on the intended reader. How I
wrote for each audience proved to be challenging but it really helped me later when
writing different assignments.
Practical Proposal

Here you will find my original proposal for my practicum subject. This is the
introduction to my actual blog. While writing this I learned about thinking long-term. I had
to choose a subject that I would be studying in detail for the entire semester.
Human Experience Criteria
Here you will find my personal criteria for what the Human Experience is and
what traits one would need to be an example of the Human Experience. This is paired
with my proposal because I used these criteria to help choose which place I wanted to
interview. From this, I learned what my personal definition of the human experience is
and who and what fits the definition.
Making the Lists
Here you will find a group work assignment where we chose categories and had
to decide what belonged into said categories. This assignment interested me a lot as I
did it, so I felt it was important for me to add to my portfolio. I learned about grouping
things and being able to develop criteria for subjects.
Meme & Reflection
Here you wild my meme of me. This project made me describe myself and how
others view me in respect to one specific hobby. This project taught me to look at things
from alternate views other than my own.
The Arrival mini-project

Here you will find my project in response to The Arrival by Shaun Tan. This was a
interesting book and project and was also a requirement for my portfolio. This book and
project taught me how to interpret different types of literature. It also taught me that
books do not have to have words to tell a meaningful story.
Practicum Blog
Here you will find a link to blog that I have been working on throughout this
semester. It was a very extensive project and had a lot of pieces to it. From this project I
learned that you can interview a place and get its history through the observation of the
people who visit the place.
Contemporary Literacy Project
Here you will find the written and visual form of my literacy project in relation to
my practicum and blog. This project has taught me different types of literacies and what
literacy actually means. It also taught me that places can be literate in many different
things.
Annotated Bibliography
Here you will find an annotated bibliography of sources for the novel American
Gods by Neil Gaiman. This is a mandatory document for my portfolio, but I also chose it
because it is a good description of the novel we had to read this semester.
American Gods Reflection

Here you find my personal reflection of the novel American Gods. This is a
mandatory document for my portfolio, but it also is a good indicator of everything I
learned from this novel. From this assignment, I learned more about what I thought of
the book since I was forced to think on it deeper.
Academic Wild Card: LBST
Here you will find the link to my Visual Arts photo project. I chose this item
because it was one of the more enjoyable things I had the chance to do outside of this
class. While doing this project, I learned different things about landscape and visual arts
and the purpose of interpretation.
Personal Wild Card
Here you will find a compilation of all my art I have done this semester. I chose
this because none of it was done for academic purpose, but it is still very interesting and
took up a lot of my time. My drawings and paintings have taught me that there are a lot
of ways to de-stress and that even if you arent great at something does not mean that
you can not do it.
Reflection: A Humanizing Experience
Here you find my reflection on this portfolio. This is a mandatory piece of the
portfolio, but also, it concludes my thoughts of my own portfolio and brings an end to my
portfolio and this class. I learned that all the small assignments we have done through

the year are not as silly as they seemed at he time. I also learned that I am capable of a
to more than I thought.
