1. Discuss the interplay of identity, function, and form in understanding the church.
How do churches fall into problems by misunderstanding how these relate to each other?
Describe an example of such a problem.
2. Describe the identity of the church and its leaders in Scripture.
Include two overarching concepts and six key metaphors, including the role of church
leaders in each metaphor. Explain how using these metaphors can help leaders in guiding
their church.
3. Explain the scriptural rationale for the parachurch and the six models of how the church and
parachurch might relate. Choose one of these models as your preferred view and defend
your position.
4. Identify the eight essential core functions of the church and briefly describe the key
dynamics/principles related to each one.
5. Describe the stages of a disciple-making "people flow" urch leaders one, etc,
etc
(the functional purpose of the stage) that can bring a non-believer to Christ
and develop him/her into an effective church leader (starting with the simple three stage
model discussed in class, then expanding to a five stage model).
What kinds of groups or relational dynamics might be used in each level to create an
effective infrastructure?
