Raz Returns to Jefferson Pitts Racing for the 2016 NASCAR Pro
Series West Season with Partners Montana Tech and Trinity Energy
LAKE OSWEGO, Oregon (December 10, 2015). Gracin Raz, NASCARs K&N Pro Series West Rookie of the
Year runner-up, will return to the seat of the No. 27 with Jefferson Pitts Racing (JPR) for the 2016
season.
Also returning in 2016 are Razs
partners Montana Tech and Trinity
Energy. After seeing Gracin in
action a few times this past year,
our team and alumni members are
excited to have the opportunity to
join his journey at the start of
2016, said Joe McClafferty, Vice
Chancellor for Advancement and
University Relations and President
of the Montana Tech Foundation.
In addition to Gracin being a
terrific ambassador for Montana
Tech, the audience following his
journey aligns well with our target
audience and enables a strategic
platform for our team to expand our brand awareness.
During the 2016 season Raz landed one win and pole, 6 top five finishes and 11 top tens. He entered the
final race of the year at Phoenix in contention for the championship and finished the season fourth in
the points series after mechanical issues prevented him from finishing the Phoenix race.
At the age of 18, Raz is the youngest driver to win a NASCAR K&N Pro Series race from the State of
Oregon and he is looking forward to building on 2015. This past year I had a huge learning curve given
the little seat time I had and for the fact most of the races were first time tracks for me, said Raz. Next
year our team will be able to build on the momentum and knowledge we created this past season,
including the amazing chemistry we have across the entire JPR Team.
Raz will open his 2016 season with a super late model race in Tucson, Arizona the first week of February.
In mid-February Raz will head to New Smyrna, Florida where he will compete in the prestigious World
Series week, including the season opener for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. The NASCAR K&N Pro
Series West schedule is expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
