waterfalls.

Date:

10/16/15

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07
Ben Pingle

Objectives:
I wanted people to go see the waterfalls in Idaho.

Process:

I used a Nikon D5500 to take the picture. I used Adobe

Photoshop to edit and add design features and text.
Using the rule of thirds and sharp focus to capture a
good picture. There is plenty of leading space towards
the waterfall where the kids are headed.

Portraits

Date:

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07
Ben Pingle

Objectives:
I wanted to capture the beauty of a smile.

Process:

I used a Nikon D5500 to take the pictures. I used Adobe

Photoshop to edit. Changing the contrast, exposure,
color saturation and levels helped to create quality
pictures. Using the rule of thirds and sharp focus to
capture a good picture. Blurring the background to focus
on her face.

them look beautiful.

Date:

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07

Objectives:

My goal with these photographs was to make everyday

things that I see every day look beautiful. There are
pictures of my apartment, inside and outside and a
picture of my roommate. To practice my indoor shots I
took a picture of cleaning supplies.

Process:

I used a Nikon D5500 to take the pictures. I used Adobe

Photoshop to edit. Using the rule of thirds and sharp
focus to capture a good picture. The end result captured
the beauty of everyday things.

Motage
Discription:

This is my spiritual pass along card for the LDS Salt

Lake City temple.

Date:

10/24/15

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07
Ben Pingle

Objectives:

To communicate to all that the Temple is the house of

God and is a holy place.

Process:

I used photoshop to create this piece. I found the images

using google image search. I used the image of the temple as the background and then blending the image of
Jesus on top. I used a different font and size for the text
to emphasize the holiness of the house of the lord. I
tried to keep the trees in Jesuss beard to help with the
blending effect.

Logos
Discription:
Logo made for customerfishing.com

Date:

10/30/15

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07
Ben Pingle

Objectives:

To communicate the mission of the business. The

business informs people on how to get customers. So I
paired the name customer fishing with a little hook.

Process:

I used adobe illustrator to make three possible logos. I

shared these logos with my friends on facebook and my
roommates to see which one they liked most. I then got
critiqued by a classmate and a roommate on which one
they liked and what I should change. The logo you see
on the page is the final product in three forms; the first
original color, the second black and white, and the third
white on color.

Letter Head
Discription:
Logo and stationery created for my business
customerfishing.com

Date:
11/7/15

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07
Ben Pingle

Objectives:

To communicate to customers that customerfishing.com

will get you through the storms of the online business
world.

Process:

I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo and Adobe InDesign to make the stationery. I tried thinking of things
that are related to fishing and one of the first things that
came to mind was an anchor. Anchors help ships weather the storms so I thought it fitting for my company logo,
to weather the storms of business. I didnt originally
have the anchor watermark in the background of the
page stationery, but a college convinced me to put it in
there and it turned out nicely. The company logo on the
back of the business card took a lot of tweaking to get all
colors to match.

A brochure made for customerfishing.com

Date:

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07

Objectives:

To communicate to customers that Customer Fishing can

help you reach your goals and start an internet business.

Process:

I started with sketching out ideas of how I wanted the

brochure to look. I also looked at examples of other
peoples works. I then created a new logo for Customer
Fishing in Illustrator. I took my sketch layout to Indesign and made a draft. I then got my draft critiqued by a
classmate and a roommate. I then applied the suggested
changes which made it look 100% different. I then got
it critiqued by my teacher and a friend. Applying the
changes suggested to this second draft created what I
have today.

Objectives:

To help the homeless and the audience is the residents of

New York, middle class, between the ages of 18 and 40.

Process:

I first sketched out ideas of layouts. I then found an

image from a book and scanned it to a computer. I
created the layout on Microsoft Word and added the
picture on there.

Web Page
Discription:
Website created for the Customer Fishing logo.

Date:

11/21/15

Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 07
Ben Pingle

Objectives:
To display my skills in HTML and C++.

Process:

I created this web page using Notpad++. After I marked up all

my content and inserted my image, I attached a pre-made CSS
document to my HTML. I then used the colors from my logo
as the colors for my web page. I found these colors by opening
Photoshop and using the eyedropper tool. The most challenging part was working with CSS to create the design
of the page.
