1. What are the long terms effect of living in a technological word?

Are these

negative or positive?
Technology can have positive and negative impact on social interactions. With the
proliferation of technologies that are able to overcome the obstacles of time and space
(e.g., airplanes, cars, the Internet), one would think that these tools would be used to
gain an understanding of other cultures, meet people all over the world, maintain and
strengthen familial relationships, communicate effectively with others, and help people
to become more socially adept. However, some technological advances cause people
to be distracted, overly stressed, and increasingly isolated. Many people are involved in
an abundant number of relationships through technology, but sometimes the quantity of
these associations leaves people feeling qualitatively empty. Obviously, technology has
had a profound impact on what it means to be social. The use of social networking sites
has both positive and negative consequences. It is amazing how someone can find a
long-lost friend through a social networking site, enabling them to reconnect. In a
society where people have become quite mobile and family and friends are often
geographically separated, it is convenient to keep in touch through technology.

2. What is the most important new technology for solving world problems?
The most important new technology for solving world problems is the internet. You can
ask anything, search anything, it can also translate any kind of language to the
language you want. It can sometimes solve your own problems. Its amazing how fast it
could translate, search, and solve. Some people say that technology is important
because technology is the key to solving all of the worlds problems because it is
through technology that the solutions to new problems are solved. Technology is the
practical application of science, and thus its very definition is to solve problems. Without
technology, we would all be sitting in caves. But some others say that technology is a
tool that provides leverage to amplify the efforts and will of the humans who use it. The
worlds problems: famine, disease, war, economic disparity, apathy, climate change,
species degradation, etc., are largely the result of human intent more than lack of
technical capability. If we want to reduce humankind's problems, we must look inward
rather than outward. We must study the elements of stable, sustainable systems and
understand what constitutes a real problem, and what is simply the system at work.

3. How has social media helped solve and create problems in countries outside
the U.S.?
It does, very much so, I think its a way of sharing these ideas, of getting people
interested, getting people excited. Im just blow away by YouTube and the whole
technology I could record myself doing something, out this video up on YouTube, and
the next thing, by the end of the day 1,000 [people] have seen it, sent e-mails to their
friends and it just multiplies and leverages. So the sharing of ideas, I think, through
social media, is incredibly important or adoption of ideas. It has a powerful message
its a powerful mechanism for getting people to adopt ideas as well, good and bad. You
know, you take the good with the bad. Were learning, you know? Were still very much
the old Web site kind of communication, which was the 90s or the early 2000s. Now
theres Twitter and social media and YouTube, and we need to learn how to
communicate more effectively. A lot of what we do at Woods Institute now is focused on
strategic communication, how to communicate more effectively with the public but as
well as with business, government and corporate, it would be nice if our ideas went viral
and quickly.

4. How do social media, texting, cell phones and the Internet make the world
bigger? Smaller?
Social Media is about two-way sharing to build better networks of information and a
more pleasant user experience of the web and life. In some ways, its made our lives
wider, full of more depth, and in other ways, its brought us closer to other people
people we never would have had a chance to meet otherwise They say that Haiti is the
first real example of social media having a profound affect of change for humanitarian
causes. Sharing became caring in the case of Haiti. Because a lot of people are starting
to ask how people can be generous to people that they never met, but turn down a
beggar on their own street. I know the event was catastrophic, and I not agreeing with
that opinionIm just saying. Theres something to be said for what needs to happen in
every country, not just Haiti.

5. What are the implications of ever increasing globalization through technology

to our global economy?
At the most generic level, globalization is simply the shrinking of geographic space of
politically defined borders that accelerates and magnifies flows of money, goods, people
and culture around the world. Today, more than ever before, people around the globe
are more connected to each other: socially through the media and

telecommunications; culturally through movements of people;economically through

trade; environmentally through sharing one planet; and politically through
international relations and systems of regulation. These increasing connections lead to
an interdependent world in the form of global political and economic networks that are
called globalization. Among the positive consequences of globalization are the
widening of peoples horizons, access to knowledge and the products of science and
technology, multiculturalism and intercultural views, an increase in opportunities,
personal and social development and possibilities of sharing ideas and joint action
towards solutions to common problems. The negative consequences are mainly on
social, economic and environmental levels. On one hand, there is increasing poverty in
societies, a growing gap between developed and developing countries and between
privileged and excluded people, low standards of living, disease, forced migration and
human rights violations, exploitation of weak social groups, racism and xenophobia,
conflicts, insecurity and growing individualism. On the other hand, there are many
environmental repercussions, such as the greenhouse effect, climate change, pollution
and the exhaustion of natural resources. Resistance to globalization, from various
ideological perspectives, has grown as people have come to recognize its effects on
their lives and on the world. Anti-globalization forces are critical of the inequities of
global trade, environmental problems, loss of national sovereignty, and cultural
imperialism.

6. Technology is moving so quickly that we are frequently using computers,

software programs and other technologies that have frustrating glitches and
problems. Is there a solution?
Technology is moving so quickly that we are frequently using computers, software
programs and other technologies that have frustrating glitches and problems. Is there a
solution? The world is steadily changing very fast and this is also accompanied with
improvement and advancement of technology. This has seen the development of
smaller, faster, more efficient and effective machines, software and programs.
Technological advancement is a fast developing field but this has not been without its
own fair share of challenges in the form of glitches and problems that affect the
functioning of the machines developed from this technology. Different organizations
have complained of technologic...
7. How does our experience of social interactions with others human influence
the way we interact with machines?
Technology like this is not science fiction, and is very close to becoming reality.
Humanity has changed dramatically from the Stone Age to the Dark Ages through the

Enlightenment and the Industrial Revolution. This evolution is marked by advances in

technologies that appear to make peoples lives better. The ability to control fire gave
man the ability to warm himself and cook food. The invention of the wheel has paved
the way for transportation and industry, while the ability to make energy from coal and
oil has shaped entire societies. Now however, we are in the midst of a new digital era,
where cell phones, Facebook, and twitter have dominion. Technology has made leaps
and bounds in recent history and shows no signs of slowing down. With this exponential
evolution occurring at a pace so fast that it takes constant attention to keep up, the
fundamental questions arise: What implications will this new era have on society and
how will it shape the future? One of the most dominant features of technology has
become its evolution of the way in which we communicate with one another. Human
communication has remained fairly constant, and limited, for the vast majority of our
time on earth. Face to face and interpersonal communication had been the status quo
for thousands of years. Charisma and oratorical skills as well as social cues and eye
contact have been keystones in our abilities to interact, get what we want, and make
progress as a society. This, however, is all changing. It has become commonplace to
send an email instead of writing a letter, a text message instead of calling, and adding
someone on Facebook instead of inviting them to coffee. Surf the internet relentlessly,
and blog about our every thought and action. Similarly, our emotional responses have
evolved to accommodate our new perception of interaction.
8. How is digital learning going to change schools and education?
Accessibility is one of the biggest virtues of digital learning. In the age of internet, the
concept of open knowledge has preceded over classified information. With
information fleeting openly on the web, students can get access to high quality content
for learning almost free. In addition to that, nonprofit enterprise such as the Khan
Academy and Coursea has brought MOOC of massive open online courses into the
mainstream. Although at a nascent stage of its development and popularity, MOOC has
attracted thousands of students to its doors. The enrollment number is high, however a
small fraction of students actually go on to finish their credit. This achievement may not
be overwhelming at the moment, but in times to come with greater awareness and
understanding; MOOC will be a viable option for students who dream to part of coveted
institution but do not have the means. It will also be helpful for working professionals
who want to take up a vocational course or training but do not have the time to do it in a
traditional way. Also the schools can even learned faster with the way of digital learning,
in term of teaching student and also the teachers itself, digital learning is helpful in many
ways.
9. Does the internet need controls or censorships? What kind?
I think it is clear that the Internet needs censorship, since many adult sites are readily
accessible to children. I believe that the Internet should be treated like a public place

and should be policed accordingly. That means censoring adult or offensive sites that
are readily accessible to children, among other much-needed censoring measures.
Internet should be in controlled by adults especially for their children who still in minor
ages, some people should not be exposed to certain things, some of the websites on
the internet show different things such as information or adult themes and rude Pictures.
These should be censored so under aged children cannot see the inappropriate
content. By doing this we are making sure that our children can live innocent and happy
lives without being exposed to many different things. But well of course we adults
people should still need to wide open our eyes to the possibilities that our children nor
minor kids cannot be stopped watching nor seeing censored pictures, videos, etc.
guidance by adults are the more appropriate for the minor children who is now living in
the generation of internet.
10. Do digital tools make us more less productive at work?
Digital tools is very helpful for our everyday routine, It wasnt that long ago that the world
I lived in had no smart phones, tablets or widespread broadband connectivity. In fact,
looking back twenty years, I can clearly remember that the pace of life was much less
hectic without the electronic devices that I cherish today. Or was it? Today, minutes are
taken on the spot via smartphones, tablets or laptops, and shared immediately via email
or collaborative applications. Appointments are scheduled using productivity tools and if
you really need to contact or coordinate with ur classmate or any person that you need
to contact, you can set up a group text or chat. Designs are shared via email, uploaded
and downloaded through corporate portals. Coordination, discussions and presentations
via audio or video conferencing are now commonplace and various free services, such
as Skype or Google+, are widely available. Decisions are made faster, and assignments
or jobs are completed in a fraction of the time previously required with shared inspiration
from the internet.
