WORLD DAY AGAINST TRAFFIC IN PERSONS

orld Day Against Trac in Person is a call to end this crime and give hope to the vic ms who o en live unrecognized
among us. It is a period to promote the awareness and ght against human tracking around the world. This is also
a me to get private sectors, individuals, organiza ons and government involve in comba ng/preven ng human
tracking; and seeking for strict policy against it.
It is obvious that human tracking was abolished more than 150 years ago, but there exist more people in modern slavery
today than at any other me of our history.
For several years now, rather than abate, the scourge, both at the domes c and interna onal level has con nued to thrive.
Men, women and children fall into the hands of trackers both in their own countries and abroad. Every country in the
world is aected by human tracking, whether as a country of origin, transit or des na on for vic ms.

An es mated 21 million men, women and children are vic ms of human tracking around the world.
The future of some of our young people, especially women and children who are vic ms, have been sha ered and their
lives frustrated through the triumph of this evil act.
Edmund Burke said, The necessary thing for evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing.
It is our responsibility to do something. One of the things we have done to boost the awareness against human tracking is
FREEDOM WALK AND SHOW AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING, RAPE AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN.

FREEDOM WALK AND SHOW

Against Human Trafcking, Rape and Violence Against Women

Interview with Blessing Yahaya, (An Abuse/Rape Survivor, strongly inspiring safer spaces for minors)

My name is Blessing Yahaya.

I am 16 years old.
I am a rape survivor.
I was raped by the same man
that raped/impregnanted my mother to give birth to me.
I am against RAPE. We have to help those who are battling
with rape or any form of abuse. I feel and understand
Rafe Draw
their pains, because I have passed through what
they are facing now. I also want the government
to bring back our girls (Chibok Girls) who are currently
facing abuse in the hands of their captors.
We should ght against Human Trafc and Rape.
#StopHumantrafcandRape
Dont just sympathize, but empathize with victims of human trafcking and rape.
Empathy makes you take action; it makes you to support them; it makes you to
speak out for them; it makes you advocate for their rights Joseph Osuigwe C
