PROCEDURE
1. Place the hydrostatic Pressure Apparatus on a horizontal, waterproof surface.
2. Set the vessel (1) to an angle of a= 0 o using the detent (2) as shown
3. Counter balance the unit with a rotating slider (5)
4. The rotating slider must be placed such that the spirit level shows that the balance
arm is level.
5. Mount the rider (6) set the lever arm on the scale (I = 150 mm)
6. Top up with water until the balance arm is leveled.
7. Read off water level, s and enter it in the prepared worksheet.
8. Increased the appended weight (7) in increment of 30g and repeat the experiment to
record 1 sets of observation.
9. Continue topping-up with water until the submerged condition is just attained.
10. Add weights until the level arm just dipped, level the arm by topping up with water.
The current weight is now the start for the submerged condition. Use 30g weight
incremental for the submerged condition, until 7 readings are obtained.
11. Back-tracking and check the readings of the water level and matching weights
recordings while the water is being drained-off decrementally.
12. Clean up and tidy up the apparatus and surrounding once done..
Thank you
