1.- BIOGRAPHY OF THE AUTHOR

Charles John Huffam Dickens was born in Portsmouth, England, on February 7,
1812 and was one of the best known in the literatures world English novelists. Dickens
was also the chief literary representative of the Victorian era and was a master of
narrative genre.
In his proyect, Dickens shows irony and humor that enchanted readers and
hinted in his societys criticism of that time sharp text. Sometimes Dickens also used the
pseudonym "Boz" to produce texts.
Novels and short stories of Dickens were highly popular during his time and are
still continuously being published today. The Charlens Dickens most famous work "A
Christmas Carol," which continues to reap new adaptations almost every year by new
authors. Dickens died on June 9, 1870 due to a stroke.

2.- EDITIONS AND CINEMA

Oliver Twist was first published between 1837 and 1838, and have been making
multiple editions that reach today. Oliver Twist has been adapted many times for film
(this novel has twenty-four film adaptations, the last signed by Roman Polanski in
2005), television and musical theater.
It is very interesting note that this novel has been translated into many
languages, due to the great public acceptance.
The orphan childrens problems and their education under these conditions are
discussed in the literature, and collected by the film since its inception, training related
to the crime and subsequent salvation at the hands of a wealthy family. For example
"Rinconetey Cortadillo" shows us clearly Cervantes.
The novel was being developed in the nineteen century.
From my point of view, I would recommend the film by Roman Polanski,
published in the UK, Czech Republic, France and Italy in 2005, lasting 130 minutes, for
good music and film quality can serve as an introduction to the small to meet the
inmates of marginal or abandoned children, as well as one can see a reflection of the
society of that time.

3.-TOPICS

Dickens's novels are characterized mainly by the content of social criticism

presented in this case we see social injustice and disproportionate punishments. It is
very important that this work had a great impact on society.
Love also appears in the novel in different ways. On the one hand Oliver loves a
mother he never knew, his devotion to the people who help you, the romantic
relationship between Rose and Harry. We can also see the good and the evil.
Dickens represents criminals as evil, cruel and gloomy beings, so your
unsightly, but can also appreciate the beauty of the kind that will help the young
characters. Oliver regain their social position. Dickens divides mannequins characters so
that even suffer to be compensated along the story.
During the treatment of the book we can clearly see how dominate other issues
such as crime and marginalization usually caused by peoples migration from the
countryside to the city, as well as the difficulty and hardness of not growing without a
Parents who educate, take care of children and allow boys development day to day.
All of this will culminate on issues such as poverty, violence, hunger, crime and
marginalization.

4.-CHARACTERS
First I will quote Oliver Twist (protagonist of the play), who is characterized as a
small child very confident (favors easily fool you) and orphan. Throughout the books
evolutyion, it is mistreated by society, and finally recovers its identity and find a family
to be happy.
Another important character is Fagin, who tucked in all kinds of illegal business,
and from the outset aims to welcome Oliver in his band, this character is related to
Nancy, thief.
According to Mr. Brownlow, say that is a very honest, loving and kind old
gentleman, friend of the father of Oliver, which host this at home.
Rose is Mrs. Maylies niece (lady of high social position), who Oliver tries to
help finding their origins.

Finally, talking about the main characters treatment Ill finish with Monks, a
character who tries to erase origins tracks of art.

5.- CONCLUSIN:
In my opinion in this novel it is clearly reflected the society of that time and
therefore through this reading can reflect some ideas as: the childrens manipulation to
favor older.
On the one hand we can clearly see the Oliver Twists courage from that is
orphaned until it finds a family that is happy in the process of changing. The book
clearly reflects society at the time starring hunger, pain, crime...
For me, this novel is the most interesting of Dickens as it allows us to value the
society in which we live.
