Bangladesh: Officially the name of Bangladesh is People's Republic of

Bangladesh. It is a country in South Asia. It is bordered by India on all sides
except for a small border with Burma to the far southeast and by the Bay of
Bengal to the south. Together with the Indian state of West Bengal, it makes up
the ethno-linguistic region of Bengal. The name Bangladesh means "Country of
Bengal" in the official Bengali language.
Bangladesh is among the most densely populated countries in the world and has
a high poverty level. Geographically the country straddles the fertile GangesBrahmaputra Delta and is subject to annual monsoon floods and cyclones. The
government is a parliamentary democracy which has been suspended under
emergency law since 11 January 2007.
As the World Bank notes in its July 2005 Country Brief, the country has made
significant progress in human development in the areas of literacy, gender parity
in schooling, and reduction of population growth.

Key changes in the cultural environment of Bangladesh; Bangladesh is a

small country but has lot of traditions and cultures. But with the flow of
globalization the cultural environment of Bangladesh is changing.
Today Bangladesh being changed from the very beginning of its birth. Now the
cultural environment of Bangladesh being changed. The key changes in cultural
environment are written bellow.
1) Mentality: The mentality of Bangladeshi people is being changed by the
flow of globalization. Today their mentality became higher. Now people
want to do critical things by their own. Today people want to know every
thing, they want to do what their minds want to do, and they want to be
sophisticated. For this reason the cultural environment of Bangladesh is
changing very fast.
2) Cloths: The cloths and dress up is being changed from the beginning of
Bangladesh. Today the people of Bangladesh wearing modern cloths.
Today their needs and wants are changing. People want to forget the past
style of cloths and dress up. Today they want to taste the modern style of
cloths. For example we can see the teenagers and youth generation, they
are wearing modern or western dresses. This is also a key change in the
cultural environment of Bangladesh.

3) Sense of Self independence: Today the sense of self independence in

Bangladeshi people is growing high. Now they want to do what ever they
want by their self. Today from a boy to a grown up man every person
wants self independence. Sense of self independence is also a key
change in cultural environment of Bangladesh.
4) Decision-making personality: Today every person of Bangladesh has
decision-making personality. Now every person prefers their own decision
in every work. So it is effective to change cultural environment of a
country.
5) Career consciousness: Today every person in Bangladesh wants to
build up their career. Now vacancy in Bangladesh is not available but
every one is conscious about their career. For this many kind of industries
and companies are growing. The government of Bangladesh is also
creating some effective solution. Today career consciousness is also a key
factor to change in cultural environment of Bangladesh.

become modern and easy. Education is the backbone of a nation, so
people of Bangladesh is preferring education as their main job to do. They
are sending their childrens to the school to take education. This factor is
giving more and more knowledge to the people of Bangladesh and
changing the cultural environment of Bangladesh very quickly.
8) Lifestyle: Today the lifestyle of our people has changed very much. Now
life became easier and comfortable. Now every people is showing various
lifestyle. Now their mentality, clothing, education, behavior, career all are
showing a persons lifestyle.

Cultural environment is very important factor for a nation. Now with the flow of
globalization and modernization every culture is changing. So the change in
cultural environment of Bangladesh is also being happened. It is taking
Bangladesh forward and making more modern.
