1. All instructors are required to submit a Masterlist of Players to the organizing committee using
the official form provided. ONLY OFFICIAL FORMS SHALL BE ACCEPTED.
2. Regional teams must send their competition documents on or before the scheduled deadline.
Folders may be hand carried or sent through courier service with complete and accurate
information.
3. Regional Instructors must confirm with the organizing committee all documents sent via MAIL,
FAX, or EMAIL. The confirmation may be done via telephone or cellphone call or text message.
4. Verification for regional teams shall be done prior to the competition.
5. PLAYERS WHO DO NOT MEET THEIR SUBMITTED WEIGHT OR HEIGHT SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED.
6. Strictly no new applications will be accepted on competition day.

IMPORTANT:
1. NO REFUND OF REGISTRATION FEE SHALL BE MADE DUE TO DEFAULTS / NO SHOW
2. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCOMODATED WITHOUT REGISTRATOIN FEE.

II.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION


1. Only members of affiliated clubs, gyms and schools in good standing with the Philippine
Taekwondo Association may join the competition.
2. Contestants shall represent their affiliated club, gym or school.
3. Age requirements:
a. Senior Division: players 18 years old or older on the day of competition.
b. Junior Division: players who are 15-17 years old
c. Cadet Division: players who are 12-14 years old
d. Childrens Division: players who are 11 years old & below

III.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Only Official Competition Forms provided in the ground rules will be accepted.
2. Instructors must submit a folder containing the following:
a. Team Line-up using the Official Gallery of Players Form provided
b. Duly accomplished Registration and Waiver Form of each contestant
c. Contestants in the Childrens, Cadet and Junior Divisions must submit a clear copy of
proof of age (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport).
3. A Team Registration Fee of P3,000.00 (non-refundable) is required upon registration.
4. No entries shall be accepted after July 22, 2015.

IV.

WEIGH-IN
1. Deputized Weigh-in Officials: Only Deputized Weigh-in Officials are allowed to weigh-in
participants for all PTA organized competitions. All documents shall be properly stamped or
signed by the deputized weigh-in official and shall be accepted as final (no verification
required). Errors made by the Deputized Weigh-in Official due to neglect or non-compliance
to the agreed procedures shall be grounds for the removal of authority to conduct weigh-in.
2. Special Weigh-in for Cities or Chapters: Cities or chapters may request for a special
official weigh-in to be done at a pre-arranged venue and date. Only Deputized Weigh-in
Officials are allowed to weigh-in participants. This is recommended for those who may have
difficulty in traveling to Central Gym.
3. Weighing Scales and Height Measurement Guide: Only official calibrated weighing scales
and height measurement guides shall be used for all weigh-in. (All weighing scales must be
calibrated prior to weigh-in)
4. ONLY TEAMS WITH COMPLETE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS WILL BE ALLOWED
TO WEIGH-IN.
5. Team Weigh-in: Weigh-in shall be done on a per team basis. NO INDIVIDUAL WEIGH-IN.
6. Weigh-in Attire: The players attire during weigh-in shall be shirt with shorts, jogging pants or
dobok pants. Footwear, socks, and jewelry shall be removed prior to weigh-in
7. Pre Weigh-in: The organizing committee shall provide a pre weigh-in set-up at the official
weigh-in venue where the players can check their weight prior to final weigh-in.

8. Final Weigh-In:
a. Where there is a pre-weigh-in set-up, players may only weigh-in once for the final weighin. In the absence of a pre weigh-in set-up, players will be given only two chances to
weigh-in.
b. OFFICIAL WEIGHT AND HEIGHT LIMITS WILL BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED.
NO ALLOWANCES WILL BE GIVEN.
9. Fighting Weight of Competitors:
a. A player must compete in the weight category registered in the final weigh-in.
b. Players may be allowed to compete in one category higher only in the case
where teams dont have enough players.

VI.

METHOD OF COMPETITION
1. The competition shall be team, single elimination.
2. There shall be TWO (2) EVENTS, namely:
a.

TEAM EVENT (NOVICE) Teams with novice players (yellowbelts and bluebelts)
representing their own chapter with membership of no less than two months as certified
by the instructor.

b.

TEAM EVENT (ADVANCE) Teams with advanced players (redbelts, brownbelts, &
blackbelts) representing their own chapter with membership of no less than two months as
certified by the instructor.

3. Matches from eliminations to semi-finals in the senior and junior division shall be 2 rounds of 2
minutes per round with 30 seconds interval between rounds. Matches from eliminations to semifinals in the children and cadet divisions shall be 2 rounds of 1.5 minutes per round with 30
seconds interval between rounds.
4. Final matches in the children and cadet division shall be 3 rounds of 1.5 minutes per round with
30 seconds interval between rounds. Finals matches in the senior and junior divisions shall be 3
rounds of 2 minutes per round with 30 seconds interval between rounds.
5. ONLY ONE (1) THIRD PLACE SHALL BE AWARDED. Losing teams in the semi-finals shall
compete with each other for the third place.
6. In case more than one team from a chapter are in the same category, these teams will not meet
7. In the first match unless a bye is drawn by one team (a bye is considered a match win).
VII.

SCORING SYSTEM
1. Protector and Scoring System (PSS) shall be used during the competition.
2. For Protector and Scoring System (PSS), the following scoring system shall be observed:
1. Body kick 1 point
2. Turning kick to the body 2 points
3. Head kick 3 points
4. Turning kick to the head 4 points
3. For electronic scoring, the 12 point gap during the second round will be observed.
4. Daedo PSS will be used for all Novice and Advance divisions. All players must provide their
own Sensing Socks

VIII.

PROTESTS
1. Protests shall be made in writing using the Protest Form. The protest fee is Php 1,000.00.
2. The protest shall be submitted to the Tournament Manager not later than 30 minutes after the
match in question.
3. If the Arbitration Committee decides in favor of the protesting party, the protest fee shall be
refunded.

4. A written protest and protest fee shall not be required in the following cases and shall be
resolved with the Tournament Manager:
a. questions about a players affiliation or good standing with the PTA;
b. questions about a players qualifications (age, height or weight, skill level in a novice
category)

IX.

AWARDS
1. Team Awards: Individual medals shall be awarded to each team member.
First Place

: Gold medal + certificate + trophy

Second Place

: Silver medal + certificate + trophy

Third Place (1)

: Bronze medal + certificate + trophy

2. Best Player Awards: One player from each champion team in the different divisions shall be
selected by the coach to receive a gold medal for the best player award.

X.

GENERAL PROVISIONS
1. Competition Codes of Conduct: The PTA Competition Codes of Conduct shall be strictly
enforced.
2. Year 2015 Resolutions: Resolutions made by the PTA Tournament Directors during the
2015 conference on competition management shall be enforced.
3. Competition Rules: For all other matters not provided for in these ground rules, the WTF
Competition Rules and Interpretation latest revision shall apply.
4. Competition Uniform: The contestant shall use only the approved Taekwondo uniform
(dobok) with the PTA approved seal.
NOTE: Use of the PHILIPPINES print on the uniform is reserved for members of the
National Taekwondo Team and for those who have represented the country in
international competitions. Otherwise, such usage is strictly prohibited.
5. Competition Equipment: Only official brands approved by the PTA shall be allowed
for use. The contestants shall provide their own competition equipment (head protector, body
protector, arm & shin guards, groin guard, hand gloves and e-socks).
6. Competition Belt (Blue-Black Belt): players who are Redbelts and Brownbelts must wear
the competition blue-black belt during the competition.
7. Smart Patch for Uniform and Equipment Stickers: All players are required to place a
Smart patch on either side of the sleeves of their uniform and a Smart sticker on the armor
and headgear.
8. Coaches Attire: Coaches are required to wear collared shirt and coachs vest when
coaching during the competition. No slippers, caps, round neck or sleeveless shirts will be
allowed.
9. TBB / TBS: Participating TBB / TBS shall compete in the senior division.
10. Referees: Only National and Regional Referees who have passed the course for the current
rules shall serve during the competition. They shall serve full-time.
