WHAT IS REVOLUTION DREAMCARD?
There's never been such a fast and easy way to create your own software!
Whether you are a complete beginner or an intermediate developer, Dreamcard
is a simple yet powerful tool that brings programming to the rest of us.
With Dreamcard, you can:
Make multimedia, games and applications
Learn and teach how a computer really works
Make professional-looking software - easily!
Straight out of the box, Dreamcard provides the features of a word
processor, a presentation tool, a simple spreadsheet, a database, an
animation tool, a movie player, a calculator and many more standard
applications.
All the basic components are pre-built, making the construction process a
breeze - use cards to create the different windows you need, add images,
text boxes, tables, buttons, menus and checkboxes in seconds._ Then use
Transcript, Dreamcard's built-in English-like scripting language, to add
real functionality and interaction.
Dreamcard has the flexibility to allow beginners to create a wide range of
simple and effective software while still having the power to keep the more
serious user happy for years.
When you're finished, you can distribute your work to others using the free
Player or using the free online sharing that comes with Dreamcard. If you
need even more power, or want to distribute your work as a single-file
executable application, you can upgrade to Revolution Studio or Enterprise
at any time.
You can download a free trial of Dreamcard from our web site:

TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are having difficulty getting a particular Dreamcard program file to
run, here are some things to try:
SECURE MODE
The Secure Mode feature prevents a Dreamcard program from accessing the file
system or making unauthorized network requests on your computer. If the

program you are trying to run needs to access the file system or the
network, it may not work. You can turn off the "Secure Mode" feature.
WARNING: turning off Secure Mode means that any program you run in the
Player will be able to access your entire computer. As with any program you
might download, DO NOT open a Dreamcard program file if you do not know and
trust the source of that program.
To turn off Secure Mode, first read the warning above, then click on the "R"
icon in the top right of the Player, and press the Secure Mode checkbox.
DATABASE ACCESS
If the program you are trying to run needs to access an SQL database, you
will need to download and install the database drivers add on for the
Player. This can be found at http://downloads.runrev.com/ You will also
need to turn off Secure Mode - see above for more information.
OTHER PROBLEMS
Ensure you have not moved or renamed the Revolution Player application.
Moving the Player application will compromise the security of the Player and
may cause it not to function.
DISCLAIMER
Please note that the Player runs Dreamcard program files. You should be
aware that Runtime expressly disclaims all warranties for any damage that
may occur as a result, even if Secure Mode (see above) is switched on. For
more details, please see the Player License Agreement file.
