We work with people affected by homelessness, providing person-centred

support and quality accommodation

Board Members wanted! In particular with Finance, HR or business
development skills.
We are a vibrant not for profit registered Housing Association which provides a range
of support services to vulnerable people with support needs and those experiencing
homelessness. (www.btha.org.uk )
We work with nine Scottish Local Authorities delivering supported accommodation
and floating support services. We own a small stock of accommodation which we
maintain and we lease accommodation from other organisations. The majority of our
work involves delivering local authority contracts for Housing Support. These
contracts are regularly tendered under competitive tendering. We are currently
looking at diversification activities to develop new income streams.
We are looking for board members who have relevant skills in areas such as:

supported accommodation and commissioning of supported housing

housing support services
homelessness
HR
strategic planning
charity work
finance
business
management of change
social enterprise
legal
health/social work

Management Board meetings occur every six weeks where we discuss business
planning. They are held during the day between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Board members also serve on a relevant committee (Finance, Housing Management
(supported accommodation only), HR and Maintenance and Development) which
meets every seven weeks. These meetings are also held in our Head Office in
Glasgow during normal working hours. Relevant training and support is provided,
generally during the day.
We welcome applications from women, people from ethnic minority groups and
people with disabilities as they are currently under-represented on our board.

This is a voluntary role. Board membership is unpaid but reasonable out of pocket
expenses properly incurred will be reimbursed.
(This is a re-advertisement because of successful recruitment previously and
additional members required.)
