apply to apply to join the UCCF staff
team. I had my interview at the

The role is a little similar to RELAY however it will involve a 4-year
training programme in which I will be expected to direct the work
of the CU as a whole. How they are best providing opportunities to
share the gospel on campus. I will be given a salary however, I will
also have to raise part of this. Already aware and so thankful of
your support (both prayerfully and financially this year) I now ask
that you would consider continuing this. Hoping that my prayer
letters have been able to give you an insight into the work of UCCF
I will be sending out some more info on how you can stay involved.
Praying that as plans are put into place for the next years, God
would be working behind the scenes, establishing his kingdom.

“The Princess and the Frog” this was
one of the first talk titles to catch my
eye at the CU New Leaders’ Training
Weekend (NLTW). You don’t have to
have seen the new Disney film to have
caught onto the crux of the storyline. In
fact, all of the talks were headlined by
romantic comedies because love stories
attract our attention don’t they?

Behind the secularised western
worldview (there being no God) lies the
belief that life is meaningless. There is
no purpose to it! Yet there has never
before been such an emphasis on the
search for true love. Finding that
special someone who will accept you
for YOU, because then you will be made
meaningful. Despite all your flaws and
failures, you will be valued and
appreciated. Doesn’t this give purpose
to life?
Mo and Anna McCracken were the ones
who came up with the romantic
comedy titles for our teaching at NLTW.
They led us through a love story in the
Increasing the circle of Love in Events week
Bible, found in the book of Ruth. This is
one, not sugar coated with fairytales and
fireworks. In fact, there aren’t even any
obvious miraculous signs or wonders.
Rather, this is a story all about reality.
How in this messed up, confusing world,
something is going on behind the scenes.
You see, by the time we get to the end of
the book of Judges, God had been rejected
by the people of Israel and the country
was spiralling into disarray. Yet, God was
still at work.
“The women said to Naomi: “praise be to the
Lord who this day has not left you without a
kinsman-redeemer.” Ruth 4v14a
Through the everyday happenings of Ruth
and Naomi’s lives, he was increasing his
circle of love, providing a rescuer, despite
the bitterness of their hearts, feelings of
emptiness and exclusion. GRACE WAS IN
THE AIR. God’s protection, love and care
was being revealed in the redeemer. One
who is able to re-establish his rule amid
the chaos and allow his kindness to
triumph in the darkness when sometimes
there appears to be no meaning and no
purpose to it all…

The CU's
It has been an eventful month-by this I
don’t just mean busyness (even though
the diary has certainly been filled up)…
I mean ACTUAL events: lunchbars,
ceilidh dances, open mic nights,
anything that will get students
along and with it, provide an
opportunity to share the message
of Jesus Christ. Abertay CU had a
host of lunchbars tackling topics
such as can I be good without God?
What is the meaning of life if in the
