ZGB-03-02-006 Dynamic Channel

Overview

2.1

Feature Introduction

Management

BSS support all dynamic wireless channel, About configuration, Only the static
channel of BCCH, SDCCH, TCH/H, PBCCH, PDTCH/F are fixed configured , and
other channel are all dynamic wireless channel that no need to fixed configured , the
default configuration kind is THC/F. All dynamic wireless channel is abbreviation
called dynamic channel, it can convert to TCH/H ,PDTCH/F and TCH/H+PDTCH/H
and other kind channel when need, and When the servers in these timeslot finished,
The channel will restored to TCH/F. When the traffic of CS is heavy, The static
configured TCH has been use up , then the dynamic channel can used as TCH/F or
2 TCH/H for CS , when the 2 TCH/H channel service finished , the channel will
restored to TCH/F; when there is need for PS , and static PDTCH cant meet the
requirement of service , then with the premise of reserved timeslot for CS , dynamic
channel can covert to PDTCH for PS , and when the PS service finished , these
channel restored to TCH/F. when CS and PS traffic are both busy ,and CS cant
obtain channel when PS occupied the dynamic channel , system can free the
dynamic channel for CS.

2.2

Correlation with Other Features

Correlation with ZGB-03-02-005 Static channel management: Except for the feature
configured static channel , other channel are all dynamic channel.
Correlation with ZGO-03-02-009 Self-adaptation packet data channel priority: Before
The feature of ZGO-03-02-009, The occupation regulation of Existing channel is that
allow the CS occupy the dynamic channel of PS, and after the ZGO-03-02-009 feature,
PS can occupy the PDCH priority channel, and CS cant release the channel that priority
of PDCH.

Engineering Guide

6.1

Application Scenario

Management

In most scenario could use this feature, generally configuration is combination the
dynamic channel with static channel.

6.2

Configuration Description
This feature not refer to the adjustment of hardware configuration

6.3

Network Impact
After open this feature, because dynamic channel could flexible used for CS and PS
service, So this could help to promote the utilization of channel, lower down the
congestion of network.
After open this feature, when the traffic is very busy, it may appear that CS user
occupy the PS users channel resources, this will bring down the PS users feeling. So we
recommend that we should configure some static PDTCH to ensure that the PS service
can run smoothly.

6.4

Testing method

6.4.1

Dynamic channel used as THC/F

Test purpose: To verify that the dynamic channel could used as TCH/F
Test premise: System work normally
Test Steps:
1.

Configure all the service channel as dynamic channel

2.

Configure the entire testing cell as TCH/F priority

3.

Management

UE make cs in the testing cell

Expected result:

6.4.2

1.

Cs call successful

2.

One dynamic channel occupied

Dynamic channel used as THC/H

Test purpose: To verify that the dynamic channel could used as TCH/H
Test premise: System work normally
Test Steps:
1.

Configure all the service channel as dynamic channel

2.

Configure the entire testing cell as TCH/H priority

3.

UE make cs in the testing cell

4.

Release the call

Expected result:

6.4.3

1.

Cs call successful

2.

One dynamic channel converted to 2 TCH/H, and one TCH/H occupied

3.

After cs released , 2 TCH/H converted to dynamic channel

Dynamic channel used as PDTCH

Test purpose: To verify that the dynamic channel could used as PDTCH
Test premise: System work normally
Test Steps:
1.

Configure all the service channel as dynamic channel

2.

UE make PS in the testing cell

Expected result:
1.

PS service normal

2.

Management

Four dynamic channel convert to PDTCH channel, and provide PS

service.(when using UE With multi-timeslot capability there will be 5 dynamic
channel convert to PDTCH )

6.4.4

Dynamic channel used as PDTCH constrained by CsChansThs

Test purpose: To verify that the dynamic channel used as PDTCH constrained by
CsChansThs

Test premise: System work normally

Test Steps:
1.

Configure 6 dynamic channel in the testing cell, block other service channel

2.

Set CsChansThs value 2, UE make the PS download

3.

Set CsChansThs value 3, UE make the PS download

4.

Set CsChansThs value 6, UE make the PS download

Expected result:

1.

Step2: UE download with 4 timeslot

2.

Step3: UE download with 3 timeslot

3.

For there dont have available channel, UE cant make PS call
