fighting back!
On Wednesday 13 January, american
fast food workers, who have led
strikes of tens of thousands of low
waged workers in America, are
coming to London to join forces with
a delegation of fast food workers
from across Britain.
Both here and in America, fast
food workers are forced to live
in poverty by multi-national and
hugely profitable companies like
McDonald's. While McDonald's has
raked in profit at the expense of their
workers, they have been exposed as
not paying their tax.
Fast Food Rights is hosting a
forum on 13 January at parliament
in London. The forum will see US
fast food workers, and UK fast food
workers who have joined the BFAWU
bakers' union to fight for union rights
and 10 an hour, sharing experiences
on a panel discussion. They will be
joined by Shadow Chancellor John
McDonnell.
The forum is part of a global
campaign. It comes as unions and
allies gather in Brussels to press their
case at the European Union that
McDonalds must reform its practices,
for workers and society as a whole.
McDonald's is in the dock!
Come along and join fast food
workers in the fight for higher
wages, union rights and respect at
work.
