Phosphate rock is a naturally occurring organic mineral. It is non hazardous and non flammable.

Stability phosphate rock is stable under all normal conditions.

Hazardous Polymerisation will not occur.
SECTION 6. HEALTH HAZARD DATA
OSMA Permissible exposure limit, 6 miligrams per cubic meter as total dust and 2mg/m respirable
dust can be tolerated without danger to health as Christmas Island phosphate lias extremely low silica
levels.

Effects of over exposure.


Short term
Long term

No effect other than as a dust nuisance.


Long term exposure to dust concentrations higher than recommended levels may
cause irritation to respiratory tract. Christmas island has a low fluoride content
compared with other phosphate rocks and should not cause problems if swallowed
accidentally.

Eyes Flush thoroughly with water. See a physician if irritation develops.

SECTION 7. SPILL, LEAK, AND DISPOSAL INFORMATION
Steps to be taken in case material is released or spilled:
- If uncontaminated sweep up or collect and reuse as product or placed with garden soil as a
source of nutrient.
- If contaminated with other materials handle as applicable for those other materials.
Waste disposal method Decontaminated material can be disposed of in an approved land
disposal facility in accordance with local, federal and state regulations.
SECTION 8. SPECIAL PROTECTION INFORMATION
Respiratory Protection If dust concentrations exceed recommended Permissible levels, use NIOSH
approved dust respirators, with approval TC-21C-yyy until engineering controls are completed.
Ventilation Local exhaust or other ventilation that will lower dust concentrations to less than
Permissible Exposure Limits is recommended.
Eye Protection If high dust concentrations exist it is recommended that close fitting goggles be used
to reduce dust exposure to the eyes.
Other protective equipment optional.
