Director’s Message

I derive great satisfaction in releasing the third issue of Optimus. I compliment Prof. Bholanath
Dutta for his hard-work and the student editorial board members for their supports in successfully
bringing out three consecutive quarterly e-bulletin “Optimus”

Message from Chief Editor

It is a great pleasure to present the third issue of Optimus. In this we have incorporated the
detailed activities of the department, faculty and students as usual along with a glimpse of our
college annual cultural fest “Cultura 10- an integrated cultural, technical and management fest’”
I congratulate the student editorial board members for their hard-work in assimilation and
consolidation of various activities.

Departmental News & Recent Events
Ø MBA III SEM & I SEM End VTU final examination concluded on 31.01.2010.
Ø MBA – IV SEM & II SEM classes commenced on 10.03.2010 & 10.02.2010 respectively.

Ø CMRIT College Annual Cultural & Management Fest “CULTURA” held on 26-27.03.2010.

Ø Entrepreneurship Development Programme for MBA-IV Sem commenced on 30.03.2010 for next three days (up
to 1st Apr 2010)

Guest Lectures Organized:

1. 20.02.2010: Mr. B Kalyanaraman, President, Tally delivered a lecture on “Simplicity in product and process
design” for MBA-II & PGDM-II SEM students.

2. 06.03.2010: Mr. UVG Sekhar, Head- HR, Intuit delivered a lecture on “HR challenges in an IT company during
period of fluid economic conditions” for MBA- II & PGDM- II SEM Students.
3. 20.03.2010: Mr. Ganapathy Subramaniam, Management Consultant, delivered a lecture on “What they don’t
teach in B-School” for MBA & PGDM – II & IV Sem Students.

Career Guidance & Placement Bureau

1. Employability Potential Assessment on Campus (EPAC) test was conducted by Times ASCENT for
all MBA Specialisations on 1st Feb. 2010. – Results awaited.
2. Pooled Campus interviews for ‘DNA INFOLINE’ for MBA marketing specialisation at Garden City College on
6th Feb. 2010.
3. Conference call with all ‘Human Capital’ placed MBA students in Ernst & Young was arranged on 15th
February.
4. Campus Interviews held at CMRIT for “India Info line” for MBA (all specialisations) both CMRIT & CMRIMS
students on 11th March 2010. – 30 students shortlisted and 13 got selected.
5. The Walk-in interview for Magnasoft Consulting India Pvt Ltd for MBA and PGDM marketing Students held
on Saturday, March 13th, 2010.
6. PPT Presentation by “HSBC Investment” for MBA (all specialisations) for both CMRIT & CMRIMS on 15th
March 2010.
7. Enrolment of Reliance Money’s Head start to Leadership (HSTL) program for MBA Students of 2010 Batch
PPT was done.
8. MBA (HR) Students were called up for onsite interviews at L&T InfoTech on March 17th.
9. On 01st April, 2010 Company called ROCHESTER wants to recruit MBA Finance and Marketing.

10. On 07th April, 2010 company Fullerton Securities wants to give a presentation for MBA all Streams.

1. Dr. Bobby Mitra: President & CMD, Texas Instrument visited the Campus to Inaugurate the Annual Cultural Fest-
Cultura: 2010.

2. Prof. Bholanath Dutta: Book titled “Direct & Network Marketing” got released on 16.01.2010. Published by
ICFAI University Press, Hyderabad.

3. Prof. Bholanath Dutta: Submitted the manuscript for his book titled “International Tourism Management” to
Himalaya Publishing House, New Delhi.

2. Mr. Md. Abuzer Ali Mehkri won first prize in Marketing Event in “Gardenia – 2010” at Garden City College
on 25th Feb 2010.
3. Mr. Gladwin: Won Third prize in HR Event in the Management Fest of CMR Institute of Management
Studies on 09.03.2010.
4. Mr. Md. Abuzer Ali Mehkri, Ms. Shobha & Ms. Sharitha Devpunje won IInd prize in Product Launch in the
Management Fest of CMR Institute of Management Studies.
