2. Selection Proocedure
The selectionn procedure is divided intoo two Types.

Type 1.1 : Dissertation Only


Applicants must hold a Masters degree with excellent academic records
and research background. Considerations will be made upon the
applicants scholastic records, experiences, and dissertation proposals.
Type 2.1 : Dissertation and Coursework
Applicants must hold a Masters degree. Considerations will be made
upon the applicants scholastic records and experiences.
3. English Competency
Applicants must conform to NIDAs announcement on English proficiency
requirements as follows:
3.1 Unless applicants are native English speakers or have obtained their bachelors
and/or masters degrees not more than five years from international academic
institutions where English was the language of instruction and study, they are
required to submit a test score of either the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) or TOEFL/ITP or the International English Language
Testing System (IELTS). The minimum TOEFL score is 550 for the paper
andpencil test or 213 for the computer based test or 79 for the Internet based
test. For TOEFL/ITP, the minimum score is 550 and for the IELTS, the
minimum score is 6.5 points.
3.2 Applicants, who do not meet the English proficiency requirements in 3.1 but
acquire the TOEFL score at 450-549 for the paper-and-pencil test, or
174 - 212 for computer based test, or 65 -78 for the Internet based test, or 450
- 549 for TOEFL/ITP, or 5.5 6.4 points for IELTS, may be accepted to the
program. However, they must register for English courses in accordance with
the requirement of the curriculum on remedial courses and are required to
resubmit the TOEFL score of 530 or above prior to their graduation from the
program.
Remark: 1. Applicants must submit TOEFL or IELTS score on the date of their
application or by the last date of application due.
2. Only TOEFL/ITP, arranged by NIDA or Institute of International
Education, is acceptable for application process.

4.

Application Procedure
4.1 Application form can be obtained by contacting the NIDA Education Service
Division, 3st Floor, Prince Narathip Bongsprabandh Building, Seri Thai Road,
Bangkapi District, Bangkok 10240.
The application form can also be downloaded from the website:

4.2 Applying in Person: Application can be made in person at Educational Service
Division between 8.30 16.30 hrs (except government holidays). Application
is free of charge.
4.3 Application can also be made via post by submitting the application form
together with required documents. The application via post should be mailed to:

5. Required Documents
5.1 Official transcripts of all university studies
5.2 Official TOEFL , TOEFL/ITP or IELTS test scores
5.3 Two letters of recommendation (recommendation form can be downloaded
from the website http://as.nida.ac.th/en)
5.4 Two 1inch photos taken not more than six months prior to the application
date.
Note: The completed application form along with all required documents must be
sent to NIDA within the due date. The applicant should keep a copy of all
documents sent.

6. Application Schedule
Application can be made at any time of the year. However, the application
consideration will be made twice a year during May for the first semester and
October for the second semester as follows:
First Semester (August 2016 December 2016)
