LA for P&G. since: 1) I am qualified in Customs
Operation for LA countries. Customs Compliance (CC)
reported to me as LA I-Trade leader during which I
managed
successfully
several
customs
projects/audits/issues in a very complex region with
several geopolitical challenges. I am also qualified in ITax/Business Model Definition/Transfer Pricing Policy. I
am a Chemical Engineer which represents an added
value for Technical aspects of Customs Classification. 2) I
co-worked the upgrade of LA CC monthly surveillance for
Customs Classification. We implemented a governance
scorecard to ensure Compliance work processes are
executed flawlessly. 3) As project leader, I exceeded
success criteria for Compliance/Reliability/Cost for ITrade model implementation to import RPM in 22 LA
Plants. Internal Controls score passed to low-risk/strong
controls (Global benchmark). I lead the integration of
imported Spare parts to I-Trade in LA. 4) I have
experience on representing I-Trade in LA CC and

Regional Stewardship teams.5) I co-owned the CC


metrics in I-Trade LA team.

2012-2014. Transferred back to Manufacturing


as Supply Chain Manager in Hair Color Mariscala
Plant
in
Quertaro,
Mxico.

breakthrough bottom line results such as
Productivity (+50%), Cost (-20%) and inventory (17%) improvement vs. previous year while
maintaining fundamentals in place for Safety,
Quality and Internal Controls. I was granted Key
Manager Award Stock options for second time in
2013.

2009-2012. The company gave me a broadening


assignment as International Trade Manager based
in Costa Rica in charge of international shipments
for Finish Product, Raw and Packing Materials and
Spare parts for 21 Plants and 23 DCs through LA
achieving 20% Cost reduction , 25% Lead Time
reduction, 20% productivity in 3 years. I led the

integration of the import logistics process for


Raw and Packing Materials as well as Spare
Parts and Capital in LA to the centralized ITrade model in order to execute these imports
process under full End to End compliance.
This expanded Customs and I-Taxes new
capabilities in the region to this part of the
business reducing the risk of fines, and
seeking opportunities to apply to international
and local trade programs. As a result, I was
granted Key Manager Award Stock options for first
time in 2011.

2007-2009. Transferred back to Procter &


Gamble Latin America, based in Mexico City to
lead the Respiratory and Gastro Intestinal Supply
Chain
in
Naucalpan
Plant
(+100
employees/contractors) delivering breakthrough
results of 20% productivity improvement and 10%
cost reduction Year on Year.

2004-2007. Promoted to Section Head in Jan


2004 and transferred to Procter & Gamble Paper
Company

taking
Integrated Work Systems leader for whole site
(+1500 employees) and later I took on the

following responsibilities as ThermaCare Plant


Manager (+60 employees) for NA, Europe,
Australia and New Zealand
Responsible for delivering ThermaCare business
results and developing organization capability
through the implementation of P&Gs competitive
manufacturing strategies (Integrated Work
Systems)
Increase the efficiency of the production
operations in ThermaCare.
Ensure the quality of the ThermaCare products
shipped from Albany to customers located in
different countries in Europe, North America,
Australia and New Zealand.
Develop the capability of the ThermaCare
organization by training and coaching managers
and technicians.
Responsible for the following Results:
o Manufacturing and Materials Costs
reduction in line with companys profits
targets.
o Product delivered on time to the customers.
o Product delivered within quality
specifications to the customers.
o Product innovations launched in time and
within cost targets to the market.
The results mentioned above have to be delivered
in conjunction with IWS systems implementation
to insure sustainability of the results in the
mid/long term.
2002-2003. Appointed Hair Care Supply Chain
Operation Department Manager. This is the
biggest and most strategic Beauty Care site in LA
for P&G. The organization was one with 500
employees including engineers, technicians and
operators.
Under
my
leadership,
the
Supply
Chain
Department achieved a very competitive cost,
increasing the regional profits importantly.
In addition to this role, I also led the Work Process
Improvement Strategy for the whole Site as part of
the Integrated Work Systems Strategy for the
Mariscala complex. The Integrated Work Systems
Strategy is the one and major strategy that
provides competitive advantage to the Procter and
Gamble manufacturing sites.
In May 2002, the plant received the P&G
recognition as the leading manufacturing site in
the Americas on implementing this strategy and

getting superb business benefits such as


competitive cost, 40% increase in productivity,
high responsiveness to the market, low inventories
and perfect service to customers.
The Integrated Work Systems Strategy integrates
all
the
production,
maintenance,
people
management, quality, continuous improvement,
information technology and information systems to
increase the capability of any manufacturing site
and became a competitive advantage for the
company

1998-2002. Appointed as Supply Chain Manager


for the Surfactants plant which consisted of an
organization of 50+ people, and an annual budget
of over $100MM US.
Subsequently
and
in
addition
to
the
aforementioned, I was appointed Supply Chain
Manager for the chemical plant expansion project,
a $15MM capital investment project.
The surfactants Supply Chain under my leadership
became the most productive unit with the highest
quality and lowest cost in the world. Many plants
around the world visited us to reapply our
systems. As a result of the excellent business
results, we expanded our market, selling/exporting
our products to the US and South America. I
personally lead a project to increase our Capacity
Utilization by selling Sulfonic Acid to P&G
detergents Plant in Lima OH. USA which delivered
3MM USD savings per year. As a result, I was
granted recognition shares.

1996. Granted a scholarship by Procter and


Gamble to study an MBA at the ITESM Campus
Queretaro (Instituto Tecnolgico y de Estudios
Superiores de Monterey). The ITESM is the most
re-noun private school in Mexico. Graduated in
1998 with a high honors with the highest average
of the 1996-1999 class. The MBA was studied
whilst working at P&G.

1996-1998. Promoted to Department Manager as


Hair Care Process Engineer leading the
implementation of Process Control Strategy in
Making department achieving for the first time all
the Quality Variables of shampoo bulk to meet CpK
by
implementing
Quality
Maintenance
methodology. I also achieved a 50% Batch Cycle
Time reduction and 100% Batches at the First

Time. This result was critical to bring Oil of Olay


production to Mariscala as Capacity was
constrained.

1994-1996 - Joined Procter & Gamble to work at


Mariscala industrial complex (Production plant) in
Guanajuato,
Mexico
as
Organizational
Development Manager in charge of several Human
Resources departments such as Recruiting,
Training and Compensation. I lead the design and
implementation of the first self-directed training
and qualification system for technicians at the
plant which was the foundation of our contribution
and skill based pay system in a record time of 6
months. This system was reapplied later to several
plants in Mexico.

1992-1993. I was granted a scholarship from the


Belgian Government to get a postgraduate degree
in Environmental Science at the University of
Ghent in Belgium.

1987-1992. Process Engineer at Michelin Tire


Company at Queretaro Plant in charge of Curing
and
Assembly
Department.
I
lead
the
implementation of Statistical Process Control in
that area and I was qualified on Taguchi Design of
Experiments by Instituto Politcnico Nacional
applying that methodology in Curing Cycles
design. I was in charge of providing technical
service to main automotive customers such as
Chrysler and Nissan.
