The WRX

In early 90s, the car manufacturer Fuji Heavy Industries,

from Japan, produced a new compact car, called Subaru Impreza
in order to compete with the rival car, Mitsubishi Lancer. Initially,
the new compact was called Loyale and was available just in a
four door sedan model.

The top model was WRX (World Rally eXperimental), which

had its debut in November 1992. Quoting the marketing directors
who guided them to produce this model: Anyone could be a rally
driver in his own car. Engineers developed a high-performance
car with all wheel drive and a 2.0 turbocharged engine which
developed over 200 horse power. Also, the car was equipped with
a pulley and adjustable suspension, center differential, big turbo
and a five-speed manual shorter gearing for a faster acceleration.
To make the car lighter, engineers pinched and scraped,
therefore, the car doesnt have options such as air conditioning,
electric windows or advanced braking system.
In just three years time, in 1995, Subaru Impreza WRX, won
the WRC (World Rally Championship) constructors title and kept
its top position for three consecutive years. Colin McRae is the
first driver to win a super special stage with WRX, in the same
year, 1995. The car paint, electric blue, and the big yellow logo
printed on the back of the car became historic.
To conclude, WRX is a car for people who keep an
enthusiastic smile on their faces when driving, who love fast cars,
and the adrenaline implied. This car has exceptional performance
reported to an average level buying price. This car is perfect for
anyone who is over eighteen and desires a fast and safety car. I
definitely wish to drive this car and I hope that will happen as
soon as possible.

2014 BMW 5 Series vs. 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid

The 2014 BMW 5 Series features a classic sport sedan profile, with several advantages such

The BMW scores high on pricing, having a market value of 40.000$, whereas the Ford Fusion
Hybrid is listed somewhere between 20.000 and 27.000$. As far as some mechanical
features are concerned, the BMW has a fuel capacity of 18,5 gal., while the Ford has one of
13, 5 gal. As regards exterior features, there arent many major
differences, however, while the BMW has power glass sunroof, the Ford model lacks this
facility. Even so, both cars have received good reviews on reliability and
performance. Nevertheless, according to consumer ratings, the BMW is more appreciated
when it comes to comfort and technology.

1996 BMW 7 Series vs 2014 Skoda Octavia

The 1996 BMW 7 Series is included in the luxury vehicle

category - 4 door limousine profile, with many advantages such
as powerful engine or comfortable and ergonomic leather seats.
On the other hand, the 2012 Skoda is a family car sedan profile,
which has interactive gadgets and eco engine.
Skoda is a good and economical car, yet, (but) it is not able
to rise up to the comfort and power level that BMWs offer, in
spite of the fact that the 96 7 Series is a rather old car. Thus,
should you have the money and wish to purchase a robust and
classy car, the BMW is the best option.
The BMW is a premium car and has a starting price around
50.000$, while Skoda is a low budget car which is not exceeding
15.000$ - basic package. However, Skoda beats BMW on the
average consumption chapter, only 5 liter/100 km in comparison
with 25 %, but it clearly cannot compare with the BMW
performance : 250 km/h electronically limited vs 190 km/h
Skodas max speed.
The BMW is an only four seats car, for the more extravagant
and conceited people who want to possess a massive and very
powerful gasoline car (5.4 liter and 330 horsepower). Oppositely,
Skoda is a family car, having five sets, equipped with a diesel eco
friendly engine (1.6 liter Green Line and 90 hp). Even so, both
cars are still the best in their class, according to the most recent
opinion poll.
Nevertheless, its important to choose wise before you buy a
car and you should keep take into account various things, such as

price, safety, average consume, performance and passenger

comfort.

failure mechanism folosindu-v de specificul relaiei cauz-efect despre care
am discutat la seminar, adic expresiile de cauzalitate evideniate n
exerciiile pe care le-am lucrat. Prin urmare, vei face o descriere care va
conine expresii precum: as a result, because, thus, therefore, consequently
etc.

The subject of my essay is springs. The springs are machine

elements used as an elastic link between certain parts or
subassemblies of a machine. Considering their shape and the
special mechanical characteristics of the materials they are made
of, the springs have the capacity to deform under the action of an

external force, so, they absorb the mechanical work of this force
and store it as strain energy.
In my opinion, a very important mechanical failure mechanism
is the breaking of the coil spring as consequence of the wearing of
the manufacturing material, therefore, the products are subjected
to various hardening and thermal treatments that will lengthen
their usage domain in time. The surface condition of springs is important
for the fatigue resistance. Due to the fact that coiled springs used in the
damping system of the car are prone to various stresses (traction, torsion,
bending) their lifetime is increased by applying the following solutions:
grinding of the spring surface (after the thermal treatment), hardening of the
surface (if grinding is not possible), covering of the surface (for protection
against corrosion or avoiding the decarburizing of the surfaces during the
thermal treatment) etc.

Another failure of the springs is caused by overheating.

Because of this phenomenon, the average fuel consumption will
rise and the driving power will decrease. Accordingly, it is
advisable that the spring is replaced immediately with a new one,
operation which should be done in an authorized service, since
unspecialized interventions may cause the damaging of the car
and also the injuring of the person.
To conclude, springs, similarly to every other machine
elements, need a thorough, periodic inspection and replacement,
after their lifetime has been exceeded. Otherwise, the safety of
the passengers of the vehicle may be affected.
