There is no application or tuition fee for CMS in Freiberg, but an administrative fee of 84 each
semester. There is only a tuition fee for students, who already have a Master degree (300 each
semester).

Exceptions:
If you are a citizen of an English speaking country, that includes American Samoa, Australia,
Canada (except the province of Quebec), Fiji, Ireland, Kenya, New Zealand, Papua New
Guinea, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America,
or Zambia, the submission of the English Test requirement is waived. All other applicant citizens
will need to submit a proof of English skills.

Self-addressed envelope:
In case of admission, we will use the self-addressed envelope to mail you both the admission
letter and the BBZ document required to initiate the visa application. Therefore, make sure the
name and the address written on the envelope contain all the information to be delivered.
According to the German post, it should contain the following information:

Only the country name has to be in English. All the other information can be written in your
mother tongue if you think it will facilitate the delivery.
There is no need to add stamps.
Information on Scholarships:
The CMS master program is, unfortunately, unable to grant financial support in the form of scholarships
to the students admitted in the program. Therefore, we provide a list of organizations where admitted
students are encouraged to apply for scholarships. This list contains links to organizations that are likely
to grant scholarships to foreign students admitted in the CMS master program:

Selection procedure:
We confirm the receipt of your application package via e-mail, and will let you know if any document is
missing. In addition we provide you your application number to be used for further communication
If we did not receive the missing documents by the end of the deadline (post-stamp mark), your
application will not be reviewed.
Shortly after the application deadline the selection committee will review and rank the application
packages.

If required, the selection committee has the right to contact the candidates for a phone or "skype"
interview in the week following the application deadline.
For Non-EU citizens:
At the end of April the selection committee will publish a list of the pre-selected candidates on the CMS
website (http://tu-freiberg.de/fakult4/imfd/cms/). Please use your application number to check, whether
you are on the list or not.
Thereafter the student office verifies the validity of your documents. If all the documents are valid, the
student office will mail you the letter of admission and the BBZ document for your visa application.
If your application number is on the list and you did not receive your letter of admission until June 15,
please contact us.
For EU citizens:
At the end of August the selection committee will publish a list of the pre-selected candidates on CMS
website (http://tu-freiberg.de/fakult4/imfd/cms). Please use your application number to check, whether
you are on the list or not.
Thereafter the student office verifies the validity of your documents. If all the documents are valid, the
student office will mail your the letter of admission.
If your application number is on the list and you did not receive your letter of admission until September
20, please contact us.
