SUMMARY OF VISA REGULATIONS

IMMIGRATION ACT B.E. 2522 (1979 A.D.) AND RELEVANT TEXTS
1. A valid visa of entry is necessary for every alien who wishes to enter the Kingdom of Thailand, except
for certain restricted cases, details of which can be obtained from the Consular Section, Royal Thai Embassy.

The application form must be fully completed, clearly stated the purpose of visit, and accompanied by
all required documents. Failure to do so shall inevitably incuf-delays.

3. The visas issued by the Royal Thai Embassy are only prima facie evidences that persons have been
permitted to enter into the Kingdom of Thailand and the visas must be utilized within three months
from the dates of issue. The ACTUAL LENGTH OF STAY (starting from the date of entry), shall
be determined and granted at the discretion of Immigration Officers.
The periods of stay in the Kingdom of Thailand will be granted according to the categories of visas,
as follows:
TOURIST VISA: not exceeding 60 days from the date of arrival, extension of stay may be
applied at the Immigration Bureau in Thailand.
TRANSIT VISA: not exceeding 30 days from the date of arrival.
NON-IMMIGRANT VISA: not exceeding 90 days from the date of arrival.
4. The tourist and transit visas applicant must submit the following documents:
4.1 A passport or travel document (at least six months validity) and its photocopy.
4.2 'Three sets of visa application form.
4.3 Three recent passport-size coloured photographs-bearing present appearance-straight faceno cap-no sun glasses.
4.4 Confirmed roundtrip airplane ticket and its photocopy.
4.5 Financial evidence and relevant documents. (e g. previous 6 months Bank Statement)

All-Applicants must submit application forms and complete documents 5 days prior to travel date.

6. The Embassy requires TWO WORKING DAYS to process the visa. Visa application must be
submitted at the Consular Section, Royal Thai Embassy, Kathmandu, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and
the applicant may collect his or her passport on the next two working days, from 2.00 to 4.00 p.m
7. The visitors to the Kingdom of Thailand, who are over 12 years of age, must hold sufficient funds to cover
their stay in the Kingdom at least 20,000 Baht (equivalent to 800 USD) per persoil and 40,000 Baht
currency. Failure to comply
