AXIS Applicaon Programming Interfaces (APIs) are real-me soware interoperability


tools that let your club harness the rich funconality of AXIS and your corporate data
assets in innovave ways. They let you move beyond the tradional AXIS user interface,
and make interoperability with other systems possible. Your website or other operaonal
club systems can request informaon or submit transacons to AXIS using APIs, leng
you extend services to new areas.

API Uses
With AXIS APIs, you can design web pages to your clubs specicaons for performing
front-counter tasks, such as membership inquiries, joins, upgrades, and updates. You
can also use APIs to provide client self-service pages on your website for membership
renewals, anity credit inquiries or e-billing informaon. Applicaons designed for AXIS
APIs also allow:
membership inquiries and updates by club sta who dont have direct access to
AXIS, such as insurance agents
updates to AXIS records and updates to external systems
loyalty partners to validate member informaon through AXIS
and more.

AXIS APIs Currently Available


The following AXIS APIs are currently oered by Campana. Addional APIs are constantly
being added as per club requirements.

Membership APIs
This API provides informaon about memberships and membership acvies, and
updates member-related informaon on the AXIS server. They can be combined to
complete dierent types of updates.
Member Relaonship Management (MRM) APIs
Membership inquiries require the member number client ID and other
vericaon criteria set by the club (member name, phone number, postal/zip
code) to return the following types of informaon from the AXIS server:

Membership Inquiry returns informaon for


a membership and the primary and associate
members, such as outstanding balance, how sold,
membership status, expiry date, renewal type,
address, anity dollars, and membership ags.
Acvies Request returns informaon for a
members acvity types, such as which member
iniated the acvity, descripon, date, and the
branch/teller who serviced the member.
Anity Inquiry returns a summary of earned
anity credits with Adjustment Reason by anity
partner or individual member and a detailed lisng
of each anity transacon on a membership.
Contact Method returns a list of contact
methods and codes for the requested
membership.
Client Prole returns all current AXIS Client
Prole informaon (loyalty numbers, contacts,
cizenship), except credit card informaon and
custom elds. You can add, remove and change the
prole informaon in the inquiry response record.
Membership Joins
Membership Joins may be performed for new clients,
prospects or non-members. The Join request species
membership and payment informaon. The response
includes the new member number, the receipt number
and the updated membership informaon. Depending
on the type of join, the response may also include donor
informaon for gi memberships, a promoonal discount
and the rates for the various coverages for primary and
associate members.
Membership Renews
Membership renewals require a membership number
and payment informaon. The response includes the
receipt number and updated membership informaon.

Membership Upgrades
A member upgrade request species updates to an
exisng membership number and payment informaon.
The request includes the new associates and/or
coverages and payment informaon. The response
includes membership informaon and the receipt
number and may also include prorated payments and
promoonal discounts.
Membership Updates
Membership updates (non-nancial updates) require
the members number to update member addresses,
telephone numbers and contact methods.
Membership E-bill Inquiry
This set of requests provides billing informaon to
members accessing your clubs member website. The
informaon can include membership and payment
informaon, such as membership expiry date, primary
member name and address, primary and associate
member coverages and amounts owing, and any
messages for the member.
Services Ulized
Provides real-me updates to the Services Ulized prole
in AXIS for services provided to a member through your
other systems. Examples of where your club might use
the Services Ulized Update Web Service to update
AXIS include populang home and auto policy insurance
informaon or travel booking informaon from your
insurance systems.
Donor Inquiry
Allows other systems, such as your club website to obtain
the list of gi memberships given by a donor. The Donor
Inquiry Web Service supplies the informaon required
for a donor to renew through the club website the gi
memberships they gave.

Member Relationship Management (MRM)


APIs
Dialog Markeng
Navigators Dialog Topics provide real-me hints, which help
guide and personalize the Customer Service Representaves
(CSR) conversaon with the client. This intelligent and
context-sensive prompng is based on qualicaon
rules and simplies the cross-selling and upselling process,
allowing CSRs to focus on supporng the clubs overall MRM
strategy. Through the Dialog Markeng API, Dialog Topics can
be extended out to other club systems, or to members that
have logged in to your clubs website.
Member Request Entry
Enables your club to submit member requests captured
through other club systems, for example your club website
for centralized corporate-wide processing within the AXIS
Member Request Tracking System, such as leads, feedback,
complaints, quesons, suggesons, etc.

Point-of-Sale API
Payment
Allows other club systems to submit a payment transacon
to AXIS Point of Sale, allowing clubs to handle payments
through a centralized corporate-wide system. The Payment
Web Service lets you specify teller ID, cash drawer, payment
amount, and payment method, including PCI-compliant
credit card processing and Anity dollar redempons. As an
example, the Payment Web Service could handle payment
processing for your travel insurance, vehicle registry, and
driver educaon systems.

ERS API
Call Inquiry/Cancel API
This API provides a summary list of each Primary or
Associated members acve Road Service calls, as well as
specic details for each acve call. It also provides the opon
to access a mobile web page, allowing members to track the
service vehicle locaon and the esmated me of arrival, as
well as the opon to cancel acve Road Service calls. Both
JSP and XML versions are available specically for this API.

ERS API
Travel Update API
This API allows passenger name and membership
informaon from an outside source to be loaded into the Trip
Inbox.

API Implementation
Close consultaon between Campana and your clubs System
Administrators and developers will ensure that club-specic
business rules and API objecves are clearly dened and followed
for successful API implementaon. Once your club has decided what
funconality the API needs to accomplish, Campana will deliver the
API and the following documentaon:
XML Schema Denion AXIS APIs make requests through
HTTP posts to AXIS. Both the requests and responses are
dened by XML Schema Denions provided by Campana.
Example XML request and responses examples provide
you with models of the structure of the elements and data
that may be included in the requests and response of the
schema.
Sample Flows APIs that update informaon or require
mulple steps require sample ows. Flows provide a
model for how a complex sequence of example requests
and responses can produce a desired outcome, such as the
addion of a specic coverage to a membership.
Campana Test Page the test page is a tool to help your
developers understand the transacons in an API without
them having to write any code. The test pages are used
inially to conrm that an API is working aer installing and
conguring the API components.
Throughout the implementaon, Campana works with your
technical team to provide support in deciding the appropriate
programming language (e.g., Java or .NET) for the API, handling
communicaons between the clubs applicaon and AXIS and
connecng that applicaon with the API.
