Arduino based Unbalanced /asymmetrical fault locator

Objective:
The objective of this project is to determine the distance of underground
cable fault from base station in kilometers using an Arduino board. The
proposed system is to find the exact location of the fault. The project uses
the standard concept of Ohms law i.e., when a low DC voltage is applied at
the feeder end through a series resistor (Cable lines), then current would
vary depending upon the location of fault in the cable. In case there is a short
circuit (Line to Ground), the voltage across series resistors changes
accordingly, which is then fed to inbuilt ADC of Arduino board to develop
precise digital data for display in kilometers.
2. Over voltage /under voltage load protection with GSM alert using
Arduino GSM shield
Objective:
This project aims to build a system that monitors voltage and provides a
breakpoint based low and high voltage tripping mechanism that avoids any
damage to the load. Various industrial and domestic systems consist of
fluctuation in the AC mains supply. There is a chance of damaging electronic
devices that are quite sensitive to these fluctuations. So there needs to be a
tripping system that avoids any damage to these loads.
3. Failure Analyzer of a 3 phase supply system using Arduino Uno
Objective:
Our project aims to develop a system that provides automatic tripping for a 3
phase supply system. The system allows for automatic reset of output after
an interruption in case of a temporary fault and is designed to remain in
tripped condition if a permanent fault occurs.
The electrical substations that are used to provide power to commercial /
domestic facilities may at times encounter permanent of temporary failures.
Such failures may prove quite damaging for industries and domestic
electricity consumers. Such faults may be classified as Line to Line (L2L),
Line to ground (L2G), Three line (3L) and if we consider these three, in three
phase supplying systems they may prove quite harmful. In order to detect
these situations in advance and avoid any harm to consumers we propose a
unique tripping mechanism design.

4. Load Control System for COE building using DTMF Controller

Objective;
The project aims at controlling various loads spread over a large area
remotely by using DTMF concept. The DTMF command tone thus received
from the phone causes electrical load switching. The project is useful for
managing industrial, domestic or agricultural loads that extend over a large
area.
The project requires a DTMF decoder interfaced to audio output socket of
the cell phone. Whenever a button on the keypad is pressed the frequency
thus generated from it is received by the decoder and it converts the
frequency into its equivalent digital code. A microcontroller of 8051 family is
used which is interfaced to relays through relay driver IC. The digital code is
then provided to microcontroller that identifies the phone commands and
initiates the relays to actuate the respective loads by turning them on and off.
5. GSM based industry Protection system
Objective:
With heavy automation taking place these days, the number of industries as
well as number of accidents in those industries has increased substantially.
Human errors and manual safety systems lead to increase in industrial
accidents. So here we propose a GSM based industrial protection system
that detects smoke, temperature as well as light to keep track of accidents.
The system needs to detect if the temperature of a machine or environment
goes above a certain level, if it goes above a level, it is an indication of a
malfunction. So here we use temperature sensor to detect a possible
accident. Next indication is the malfunction or overloading of machines
leading to smoke. We use smoke detectors to detect smoke and similarly a
light sensor to detect light due to spark or any flash caused due to
malfunctions. All these indicators/sensors constantly provide their input to the
microcontroller connected to them. The microcontroller constantly processes
this data. On encountering a warning signal from any of these sensors the
microcontroller now communicates this data to a gsm modem interfaced to it
and sends out an SMS message to intended user as a warning.

6. GPS + GPM based Advanced Vehicle Tracking System Project

Objective:
The project proposes a GPS + GSM based vehicle tracking system that
tracks the vehicle and sends the data over through a SMS.
The system includes a GPS modem that continuously tracks the vehicle
location in the form of latitude and longitude. The data is then sent over to a
microcontroller interfaced to a GSM modem.
The microcontroller acts as the controlling head of the system. It receives the
data from GPS modem and constantly sends over the longitude and latitude
data to user via SMS through the GSM modem from time to time as per the
interval limit set by user.
This system will help transport and travel companies keep track of their
vehicles. Also receive regular status of vehicles.
7. Generating electricity with the use of musical instruments.
Objective:
As a group, our hobbies are playing different kinds of instrument. So we
decided on how we can create electricity out of our passion.
This project aims to convert sound to electrical energy with the use of
piezoelectricity. We will simply install it in different musical instrument we will
used in order to create energy. We will use also a super capacitor in order to
store the energy coming from the piezoelectric device.
