A few recommendations

Standards and decrees

Ladder length

Standards are national, European or international texts of reference which define the specifications for the design of the products
and the minimium dimensions required, as well as result-based
objectives.

If you work at a height of 6 m, choose

a ladder of 5,10 m minimum.

Decrees concern the general regulation as far as security is

concerned. These measures are mandatory.
Decree 96-333 is a French decree defining the security requirements with which portable ladders and stepladders must comply.
Standard EN 131 is a European standard.

In France, compliance with Standard EN 131 is mandatory

pursuant to Decree 96-333.
Standard EN 14183 is a European standard applying to small
stepladders (upper step lower than 1,00 m) not concerned by
Standard EN 131.

the 1st climbing section must be

Freestanding position:
the climbing section is the narrowest

Standard NF-E 85 200 is a French standard concerning domestic

scaffolding.
It guarantees the manufacture of the scaffolding according to
the specifications required for the safety of individuals within the
context of a household use of this product.

Labels
All labels are issued by independent national testing laboratories.
The LNE for NF in France and TUV for GS.
All models in our catalogue that bear the NF guarantee the best
level of safety and quality as they have:
s uccessfully passed all the tests under the supervision of
the LNE.
Tests realised in laboratory are more demanding than these of
the European standards (additional bending tests on the ladders
for example).
are regularly checked by this institution.
Each year, the LNE conducts random samplings in stores, for
example, and controls in the manufacturers production and
quality processes.

All ladders with splayed legs in this catalogue comply with

Standard EN 131 and bear Label NF.

Make sure that your ladder leans and rests on stable and resistant
surfaces, with appropriate dimensions.
L ock the locking devices for the multi-section ladders.
Always leave 3 rungs free ahead of you as a guard rail.
A ttach the upper or lower part of your ladder to prevent it from
slipping or toppling.
Respect the maximum loading capacity of 150 kg.
Wear shoes which provide secure support, and make sure their
soles are clean.
The carrying of loads must remain exceptional and limited to light
loads. It must not prevent from holding the ladder safely.
Always maintain 3 points of contact.
