I am a graduate student pursuing Masters in Building Construction and Facilities Management
from Georgia Institute of Technology and will be graduating in December 2016. I have a bachelors degree
in Architecture. I have been following Yates Construction since my first semester at Georgia Tech. I am
looking for a summer/full-time internship within field operations or as a project/program coordinator. I
choose Yates Construction because it aligns with my interest. I have experience in commercial, Residential
and Industrial construction and I like the kind of projects Yates Construction pursues. If I am going to
spend my life working for a company, I want it to be a company like Yates Construction.
I have experience in the fields of construction as well as architecture. I got acquainted with the
industry in early stages of my life. I have worked on diverse projects during my summer internships and
co-ops while still in architecture school such as residential projects (midrise, high rise, villas and
community designs), commercial (malls, amusement park, office spaces), healthcare and government
projects. After my under-graduation, I worked for an owner based construction company which was
earlier into construction of manufacturing units. I was a member of the core team which was established
to set up a sister company to focus on commercial and residential projects. We were successful to evolve
the company from a meagre four-member team to a prosperous 45-member unit with a commercial
project (mall) and a high rise residential project in a year. I have had the opportunity to obtain diverse
work experience on field and in office during this phase. This was an important chapter of my work life as
I got a chance to co-ordinate with various consultants and key players in the construction industry
enriching my knowledge resulting in a steep learning curve. I am completely aware of all the field and
office tasks associated with a construction project. This diverse experience has helped me acquire a better
understanding of the roles all the key players of the industry from the owner to the foreman
As an ambitious and capable individual I firmly believe that my skill in construction profession
makes me a perfect fit in the company. I pride myself in having meticulous attention to detail, good social
and management skills. Communicating well and keeping clients and vendors happy through effective
dialogue is my forte. I am a career-oriented person and I dont have a preference with regards to a
geographic location. When given additional opportunities, I am willing to put in extra time and efforts to
excel in such assignments and pull through the critical phase with optimum results. My abilities include
architectural design, estimating, scheduling, project budgeting, client relationships, resolving disputes,
negotiating and critical thinking. I am eager to contribute my skillset to further Yates Constructions goals
and thereby expand my horizon of knowledge from such a rapidly expanding company. I would request
