REPORT FRffH- PRONGS

The Prong family sends you its sincerfes^L,Xtoistlah greetings and as alvfays our
thanks for your prayers and support. February finds us in our best month of the
year, though a bit hot perhaps for the taste of many. The parts of Santiago that
have grass require constant watering to stay fresh and green. This is no problem
for the majority of Santiago since most parts don't have grsss. The majority of the

people

keep the ground around their home hard packed and sweep away the dirt and

leaves every

day.

We

water however

since we love

trees and grass

and have been

blessed here to have some of both.

The family is doing well and all are in good health. Our newest family member;,
Paul David, is starting to talk a bit and has a few words down in both languages.
He does seem to favor English, though we hear much more of a third language that we

haven't yet identified. It is frequently punctuated by googoo's and gaga's. If any

of you have heard this mysterious language before you might drop us a line to iden
tify it for us. The other two boys are in preparations for the return to school,

which will happen about March 12. As we were buying clothes for the boys, Clint s
growth particularly astounded me. He also, and probably this is no coincidence, is
. frequently the biggest eater in the family.

The work is also going well and we were especially pleased to baptize 10 into the

v^^rd, Sunday, February 10. They are a good group with ages between 18 and 63. You
can be praying :^or""^eir spiritual growth and well being.

We are planning a work at

Lo Prado and another at_^Sant^ Corina that could also use your prayers.^

We thank you again for your help and are praying that the Lord continues to bless

you with every blessing in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

Dear,Brothern in Christ:

Greetings from Chile in the name of our' Savior. I invite you to join with us in
upraising the Father for the way He , fulfills His promise of peace in the midst of
trouble. We especially feel His protection and see the contrast of His peace, love
and joy, that we are preaching, in the light of the recent violent acts of the sub
versive element in Chile. .
We had a minor personal crisis as well

deat.

After 12 weeks without

this month in the

a car I received

form of an, auto, acci-

mine on July 18 at

4:00 p.m. ^That

^j^sajiie night at 7:00 p.m. as I was on my way to church another car ran a stop sign in
j: the rain and hit me in the front

left side.

We are so thankful

that there were no

; serious inji^ies that the transportation problem that has been recreated has been of
li little importance to us. In fact I feel nothing but joy for the way that the Father

!j put His hand on us to protect us.

Join with us in praising Him for His protection

and in praying that He solve our transportation problems.

As far as the work is concerned I'm very optimistic. Things seem to have sloweddown a bit due to the normal winter slump, but even so eight persons have been bap
tized at La Estrella since I last wrote. The government paperwork is holding
up
progress on the building at Le Prado but we are completely confident that things

will work out soon.

We also found .a prop^ty for the

-to start construction this week.

The property

work in .Santa Corina and hope

isn't ideal but the need is so great

that we feel that we should proceed. We have two other groups that are needing to
move from a home church to a building but since things move so slow here, I'm sure

7^y6leven
students in the theology by extension program have finished the first course
i' f and plan to continue. Only one failed to complete all the material satisfactorily
that they will have to

wait for our return from the

States .in Februaiy. JEen of ny

I-hope_all.ten will be pastors one day.

The boys

have returned to

new facility that was

school after their winter

built by the school.

They

break and are happy in th"?

are both doing

real well in bot]i

Spanish and English studies. Paul David is picking up words in both languages and^is walking everywhere now. The entire family is fine and we sure are looking for
ward to seeing you all at Christmas time.

Till then I covet your prayers.

In HjjLaad^fpr His glory,

The Rodser Prong fdmilv
