Guns in Space

Abstract

This contextual article is about educational gaming that is related to utilization of Guns in
space and will present the number of facts regarding how guns in space, earth and video games
are being used. In addition, this article will also enlighten the subject of utilization of
identical weapons in reality and video games such as Dust 501, Space Engineering and Eve
Online.

Guns in Space
Guns in Space works a little better only because when it comes to utilization of Guns in Space,
the bullets will neither have to get pushed nor does it compress the oxygen and nitrogen in the
barrel of a gun. Moreover, the aim related feature of guns in space cannot be same as it is on
earth; as they work differently in space due to the reason that guns push the air out of its way
so obviously the bullet travels curvedly (Peter, 2003). Therefore, it becomes pretty
challenging to design a fully functional weapon for space, but our greatest scientists are in the
habit of coming up with everyday miracle which is probably why you see a number of userfriendly weapons in video-games as well as in real life. On the whole, this paper will
enlighten the weapons being used in video games as well as in reality (Sharp & Brain,
1992)
Dust 514
Dust 514 is a well-known action as well as 1st person shooter multiplayer online game. This
game allows players to make use of weapons in space such as assault rifles, laser rifles, combat
rifles etc. For instance, combat rifles are considered as something ordinary in the both
battlefields of the game as well as in reality. However, nothing makes combat rifl es
to stand out from the crowd is nothing but capability of aiming the target
automatically and in addition to that, this feature makes combat rifle cost effective as it
automatically decrease the use of bullets in which the automation mode of combat rifle
enhances the level of accuracy related to aimed bursts (Harshberger, 2013).

Space Engineering
Similarly a famous sandbox game related to construction, engineering as well as maintenance of
space, known as Space Engineering, also allow players to utilize huge range of weapons; as the
game itself is about asteroid mining by means of utilization of weapons such as gating gun,
automatic rifle etc. As a result when it comes to rating the best gun in the game, it was found to
be no other gun then Gatling Gun due to its unique features such as having infinite ammo in
creative mode of Space Engineers (Savage, 2013). Further, it is capable of holding four
containers full of ammo, which is a sufficient amount for about 10 to 12 seconds of non-stop
firing. On the other hand, they play a great role in real life as well because they are ahead to
the commencement of new machine guns and precisely during the late 19th to early 20th century,
the Gatling Gun came into being with the feature of rapid firing. It comprised of a bendable shaft
along with ability of rotation of barrels just around the innermost shaft so all barrel shooting
almost goes in the desired position (Gamasutra, 2014).
Eve Online
A game comprised of a single galaxy known as Eve Online is totally based on the fact that
humankind has exploited numerous resources of the world through hundreds of
years of exponential growth of population by started to take over the remaining Milky Way.
What makes this game special is that it is set beyond 210 centuries in the future. Since Eve
Online is an action game, it offers a huge range of Guns which can be utilized in games such as
sentry guns which are known as everlasting item in the space (Bergstrom et al., 2013). The main

role of sentry guns is to be positioned nearby substances to give pressure on the attacker as well
as to turn entrance of camps more complicated. Moreover, in 0.5 space and lower, sentry guns
have the highest range of 150km from the confined items and besides that in 0.6 space and
beyond, sentry guns screen a region no more than 150 km from the substance being protected.
Whereas in real world sentry guns are meant to automatically fire the aimed target which are
detectable by the sensor (Shachtman, 2007).
