A car of mass 900 kg traveling with a velocity of 30 m/s must stop in 6 sec. Calculate
the force applied by the brakes.

A block of wood of mass m = 250 g is being pulled along a surface by a force F = 20N.
The force of friction between the block and the surface has a magnitude of 15N, see
diagram below. Calculate

In a test of a car seat belt system, a dummy of mass 55 kg in a car seat is accelerated
by a speed of 35 m/s before it hits a brick wall. The seat belt allows the dummy to move
forward relative to the seat by a distance of 0.60 m. Calculate

(b) the force on the dummy due to the seat belt.
