Information on MATERIAL:

Our CA Series Plastic Disposable Take Away Boxes are made of PP material, where it is slightly
transparent and not in white colour.
So far, the food grade and recyclable plastic that have been widely use in the market are: PP
(food container) , PET (mineral water), and PE (milk or yogurt drink bottle - in white colour).

On regards of PP material, under the FDA standard, it is 100% safe for food contact (if and only
if it is pure PP material and no other added mass filler). Then the temperature it can withstand
-10'C till 120'C, and suitable for hot food packing, and also can be reheat in microwave (not
cooking). PP plastic is 100% recyclable, mean it can be recycled and produce other plastic part
for others difference application, rather than land fill or burn/ dispose. Therefore the PP plastic
waste do have value and the material recycle centre is looking for it, as long as it has been
separately from other grade of plastic. (If the universities or centre kitchen able to separate
nicely, the waste can sales to recycled centre). If the waste can be recyclable and it is much
more better than landfill and create more waste and waiting it to be dissolved, because even bio
packaging it still need sometimes to dissolve while waste packaging has been created tonne
every day.

Information on PRODUCT:
As mention, our CA Series take away box is made of PP material (similar to the food container
material), and the outlook is slightly transparent and not in white colour (unlike some in white
colour which has already added chemical mass filler to reduce cost, and once added the PP
material specification will change, and it will no longer safe to use for food packing, especially
for hot food packing and microwave).

In the market, green packaging for food packing are mainly PP plastic, paper,
aluminium , and bio. (Aluminium packaging is expensive therefore not being use).

Paper packaging
- Cost is about the same as pp plastic or some cost higher because with printing.
- Disadvantage to pack hot food, due to paper absorb water and cause soften the box and
deform.
- All paper packing box do have inner coating (plastic/ wax coating), just to protect the surface of
the paper and avoid the water get into the paper easily, but it will not help for hot items, because
some ''cheap'' coating will dissolve and end up mix with the food.

- Can be recycled and there is value for paper waste, and it also will dissolve thus can be landfill
(but not the coating in the paper)
- Cannot microwave (Some say ''can'' but i doubt it)

Bio packaging
- costly not practical in food packing.
- Good only it can be dissolved completely (but takes time), end up the waste got no value.
- Packing wise not as good as PP plastic which is more rigid.
- Can microwave ?? (not sure about it, depend on what is the material that being use)
