KINSMEN REDEEMER

“Handfuls of Purpose”

I got a shorter message tonight and I think for the most part a familiar
one to most. We are going to look at types, metaphors, allegories. We
are going tonight, by the grace of God to look into the book of Ruth
and see our Kinsman redeemer first hand. We are going to glean the
word and find the “handfuls of purpose” he has left for us.

Ruth 2: 22 And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter-in-law, It

is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens,
that they meet thee not in any other field. 23 So she kept
fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean unto the end of barley
harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelt with her mother-in-
law.

May God add His blessing to the reading of His word.

She kept fast by the maidens of Boaz. A little background, a reminder I

hope to most, Ruth types the bride for today. Boaz, her kinsmen
redeemer types Christ. Ruth, a Moabite woman, was brought back as
the daughter in Law of Naomi, and Israelite, and went to work in Boaz’s
fields. Boaz, according to the law redeemed Naomi and her inheritance
and purchased Ruth to be his bride and redeemed her, as the Bible
says in Chapter 4, verse 10 “to raise up the name of the dead upon his
inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his
brethren, and from the gate of his place”.

He redeemed the dead so that they would not be cut off. Did not Jesus
do the same. We, the gentiles, were the dead. We were cut off from or
brethren and from our own gates.

Colossians 1:21 And you that were sometime alienated and

enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he
reconciled.

We were aliens. He reconciled us back to him. He redeemed His bride

who was lost and cut off from her rightful place beside him. And not
only alienated and lost but verily we were already dead.

Ephesians 2:1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead

in trespasses and sins; 2 wherein in time past ye walked
according to the course of this world, according to the prince

1
of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the
children of disobedience.

Did you ever stop to think about that? Without Jesus Christ we are
dead on our feet. He quickened, gave life to, us. He is the resurrection
and the live. He is our kinsmen redeemer. We walked as do other
gentiles. Ruth was a Moabite. She was not a Jew, she was a gentile.
She lived as a Moabite. And she was not alone. Naomi had two
daughter’s in law. Do you remember that. Orpah and Ruth. Both
women had the right to return with Naomi, both women could have
been redeemed. Only Ruth cleaved to Naomi. Ruth is the type of the
bride. Naomi is the type of the backslidden church. She returned to
Moab and to her false gods.

Moab looked good to Orpah. She had friends and family there. She had
a church there. She had the good life in Moab. But there was
something different in Ruth. She recognized that there was more. She
thirsted for that spiritual extra and would not be turned away. Just like
Elisha the Tishbite, she recognized something more and refused to let
go. She was willing to endure the hardships. Do we recognize
something more this morning. Are we willing to endure the hardships
or are we going to turn back. Lot’s wife turned back and she is still
there. She turned into a pillar of sin. And now the Dead Sea is where all
the Hollywood Jezebels go to party. It is a great big resort, full of the
world’s debauchery and all the people who promote it.

So we were dead and our kinsmen redeemer it says “raised up the

name of the dead upon his inheritance”. Where is you name? In the
book of life. He broke the seals on the book and only He could break
those seals and without Him breaking those seals we would all be
dead. He raised up our dead names and made them to live.

And where did Ruth and Naomi go to in Israel? Bethlehem! Talk about
a Xmas message I think I could have saved this one for next month.
Bethlehem. Her kinsmen redeemer came to the same place as our
kinsmen redeemer came, to the “house of God’s bread”, to the city of
David. And what did her kinsmen redeemer say unto her?

Ruth 2: 8 Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my

daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from
hence, but abide here fast by my maidens: 9 Let thine eyes
be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them:
have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch

2
thee? And when thou are athirst, go unto the vessels, and
drink of that which the young men have drawn.

My. We are sitting in heavenly places tonight for sure. God is truly
present. This manna is from him. Not my words, God’s Words. Do you
recognize them. Do you feel His presence? Angels all around. And
devils too so be on guard spiritually.

Go not to glean in another field! There is not another message! There

is not another Bible! There is not another Word of God but this Bible is
the only authority and do not go astray from it! Who are the reapers?
Angels. Sent to reap the earth. Jesus told us. I hope everyone is getting
this. Is this making sense? Anybody not following?

Revelation 14: 14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud,

and upon the cloud one sat like unto the son of Man, having
o his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15
And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a
loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle,
and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the
harvest of the earth is ripe. 16 And he that sat on the cloud
thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.
17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in
heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel
came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and
cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying
Thrust in thy sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vine
of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. 19 And the Angel
thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of
the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the Wrath
of God. 20 And the winepress was trodden without the city
and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse
bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

Boaz said to the men not to touch Ruth. The Bride was taken by the
one on the cloud. We are caught up and meet Him in the clouts. He
reaped them personally. Do you see it. Jesus will personally take His
bride away. The angels will cast their sickles and reap the earth but the
bride will not be touched for the groom will already have reaped her
home himself. She will be safe when the rest of the earth is reaped.
Boaz told his young men, his reapers, do not touch that one, she is
mine. Do not reap of her for that is for me to do alone.

3
And he told Ruth that when you get thirsty drink of the water from the
vessels that the young men drew. Drink from the living water. Drink
from the water provided by the angels, the Holy Spirit.

St. John 7: 37 In the last day, that great day of the feast,
Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come
unto me, and drink, 38 He that believeth on me, as the
scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water. 39 But this spake He of the Spirit, which they that
believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not
yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.

Drink from the vessels, from those who have the Holy Spirit. Are we
drinking tonight from the Holy Spirit? Rivers of living water are flowing.
Did you realize that? Rivers are flowing from the Holy Ghost filled
vessels. And the bride is to drink whenever she thirsts from those
vessels. That is why we have a ministry. That is why you have a pastor.
That is why God does not rapture each person as they receive the Holy
Spirit. They are sealed but still they must abide that rivers of living
water can flow to the rest of the thirsty bride. That is why we have a
message, to feed and water the bride. And the bride is one and God
will reap her as one unit. We all go up together, young and old, men
and women, alive and dead.

Ruth 2:15 And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz

commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even
among the sheaves, and reproach her not 16 and let fall also
some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them,
that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.

Let her, the gentile stranger feed from the Holy Stock, from the Word
of God, from heavenly manna. We are not fit for it but the grace of God
grants it to us. And not only has God allowed us to feed from His Holy
Scriptures, He has commanded that “handfuls of purpose” be left for
us to gather.

God didn’t just allow us to look into His word, He provided messengers
to show us what to look into. He purposely sent handfuls of ripe grain
to us, laid it right in front of us, and sent his angels to do it. Why do
you think the seven messengers are called angels? They were sent
with “handfuls of purpose” for us!

4
The message of our hour is not by accident. God, in His grace and
wisdom, laid every grain of truth in the message in place for us to
come along and find. Every handful in its proper place for the bride to
glean at the proper time and in the proper order. No mistakes. No
coincidence. No accidents. God, sovereign and supreme, all knowing,
all powerful, all merciful. And he did not tell them to toss a few grains.
He told them to provide handfuls of grain. Justification. Sanctification.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Water Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ.
Rapture. The seven seals. Handfuls of seed for us to glean in our time.

And she is told to keep fast by the maidens of Boaz. Most importantly
not to glean in another field. Do not look anywhere else but this
blessed word of God. No other field. She is safe from the reapers in the
field of Boaz but if she wanders from that field they are free to reap
her. Wander from this blessed word of God and you will be reaped with
the world. Go into any other field and you will not find the handfuls of
purpose. Go into any other field and you will be defiled! You will not be
fit for your Kinsmen redeemer. Stay with the maidens of the Master.
Stay with the church.

All the maidens belonged to Boaz but only Ruth was taken as a bride.
Only she was redeemed. Boaz did not tell his men to leave handfuls for
the other maidens. Did you see that? Only for Ruth. This message of
the hour is only for God’s Bride. The maidens will glean in the field but
only Ruth will find the handfuls left by Boaz. The church will all sit and
listen to the message but only the Bride will get the spiritual revelation
on that message. They will all get grains but She alone gets the
handfuls of purpose. But she will only get them IF she stays with the
other maidens and IF she stays in the masters field.

Ruth 3: 3 Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put

thy rainment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor; but
make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have
done eating and drinking. 4 and it shall be, when he lieth
down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and
thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down;
and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

Wash yourself! Anoint yourself! Put on the rainment! Wash. Get

baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Anoint.
Get sanctified. Put on your rainment. Get the wedding garment. Get
filled with the Holy Spirit. Then go to the threshing floor. It is harvest
time. What did John the Baptist say?

5
Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto
repentance; but he that cometh after me is mightier than I,
whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you
with the Holy Ghost and with fire: 12 Whose fan is in his
hand and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his
wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with
unquenchable fire.

The threshing floor is ready. Get ready for it. Uncover his feet. Worship
him. Lay down at his feet. He is God alone. He will purge the threshing
floor. The squeeze is coming where he will fan away all the chaff from
the wheat. He will gather His wheat in the garner. He will reap His
bride. And the chaff will be reaped for the fire.

The wind is about to shift. Nations are breaking, Israel’s awakening,

the signs that the prophet foretold, gentile days numbered with horrors
encumbered, return oh lost flock to the fold. When Jesus redeems His
bride back, then He goes to take care of Israel.

Ruth 3:17 And she said, These six measures of barley gave
he me; for he said to me Go not empty unto thy mother-in-
law. 18 then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know
how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until
he have finished the thing this day.

This day. The very day God redeems His bride is the very day He
returns to Israel. Sit still till it be done for He will not rest. Jesus will not
rest until every single last sheep is in the fold. He will not rest until his
bride has been redeemed from the earth. And when he is done he will
have handfuls of purpose for Israel. God has prepared handfuls of
purpose. And how?

Ruth 3: 15 And he said, Bring the veil that thou hast upon
thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six
measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the
city.

Do you see it? Bring the veil. The veil of unbelief that sits over the eyes
of Israel. Bring the veil. Remove the veil! And she went INTO THE CITY!
I feel like dancing. Do you see it? God will remove the veil from the
eyes of Israel and feed them six measures of seed all in one day. And
the bride went into the city. God will rapture the bride away and
remove the veil from the eyes of Israel and feed them measure upon

6
measure of His word. And notice it is not his young men doing it
anymore, it is God himself providing the grain.

Ruth 4: 6 And the kinsmen said, I cannot redeem it for

myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my
right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it. 7 Now this was the
manner in the former time in Israel concerning redeeming
and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man
plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor: and his was
a testimony in Israel. 8 Therefore the kinsman said unto
Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe.

Now lets turn to Revelation to Chapter 5 verse 7.

Revelation 5: 7 And he came and took the book out of the

right hand of him that sat upon the throne.

God could not redeem us. He is spirit and to redeem us our Kinsman
redeemer had to die. God being spirit cannot die. He had no way to
make it happen in the office of the Father. So he came in the office of
the son. So Jesus, the lamb of God, came and took the book from the
right hand of God, and redeemed us back to himself. Boaz typed Christ
and the nearer Kinsmen types God. As God the Father and Spirit could
not redeem us so to could this man not redeem Ruth. So as Boaz took
the shoe from the man, so too did Jesus take the book of redemptions
signifying that He was taking the full right of redemption upon Himself
redeeming us with His own blood. That was the purchase price.

Ruth 4: 9 And Boaz said elders, and unto all people, Ye are
witnesses this day that I have bought all that was
Elimelech’s, and all that was Chilllion’s and Hahlon’s, of the
hand of Naomi.

Revelation 5: 8 And when he had taken the book, the four

beasts and the four and twenty elders tell down before the
Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full
of odours, which are the prayers of the saints.

Boaz redeemed all that was for Ruth. Jesus redeemed all that was for
the saints. They both had the elders as witnesses. Notice here that
Boaz redeemed that which was for Ruth’s husband but also that which
was for Orpah’s husband. Orpah backslid back into idolatry, back into
multiple gods, trinity. She never again was mentioned. When she

7
backslid and rejected to move forward in the message of her hour, she
died spiritually. When the denominations refused to move forward with
the message and turned back to trinity they died spiritually and are
never again mentioned in the book of redemption. They had a place.
They had an inheritance with the bride. But they sold out to
denominationalism and lost their inheritance. Luther was sent with a
message and they all came out. Then Wesley was sent with the next
message to build upon Luther’s message and some came out.

Those who did not, those who were content to go back to their gods,
lost their inheritance. Then when God restored the gifts those who
refused the gifts lost their inheritance. It was for them. It was given for
them and they had every right to take it. Orpah had every right to go
back with Ruth and Naomi and claim her inheritance. Esau, the carnal
church of his day sold out to carnality. So to did the denominations.
When God sent the prophet some came but the rest refused to go all
the way and turned back to denominationalism and died. They lost
their inheritance and have no more position. They are chaff to be
bundled and burned.

Ruth received all that was for her and all that was for Orpah. The bride
receives all that is for her, plus all that would have been for the carnal,
worldly church that backslid and rejected the word of God, the
message of the hour. Remember the parable of the rich man and the
talents. He said take the one talent from him and give it to the one
who has ten. He which has shall be given and to he which hath not
even that which he seems to have will be taken away. The bride gets it
all!

Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song saying, Thou are
worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for
thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people and nation; 10
and hast made us unto our God kings and priests; and we
shall reign on the earth.

The bride doesn’t just live here forever, she reigns forever. She is his
bride. Christ is the King and she is the queen. If He is the King of Kings
then she is the queen of queens. If He is the king of heaven then she is
the queen of heaven. Redeemed from all the earth. She gets it all,
heaven and earth. She will sit in His throne with Him. And what did
they say of Boaz and Ruth?

8
Ruth 5:11 And all the people that were in the gate, and the
elders said, We are witnesses. The Lord make the woman
that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah,
which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily
in Ephratah, and be famous in Behtlehem. 12 And thy house
be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of
the seed which the Lord shall give thee of this young
woman.

Like Rachael and Leah who built Israel. Israel, the prince of God and
Rachael and Leah his princesses. All of Israel came from them. The
nation of promise came through them, of their flesh and blood. The
nation of heaven comes from the bride of Jesus Christ made of her. The
royal seed of Christ in His bride brings forth the fruit of the seed.

And in Revelation 5: 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice

of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and
the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times
ten thousand, and thousands and thousands; 12 saying with
a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive
power and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour,
and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in
heaven, and on the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all
that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour and
glory, and power, but unto him that sitteth upon the throne,
and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14 And the beasts said
AMEN! And the four and twenty elders fell down and
worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Not just a type but the type. In detail God led Ruth and Naomi and
Boaz to a life that perfectly typed Christ and the church. They say I’m a
teacher. Do you know what teachers do? They assign homework. So I
am assigning homework to you. Listen to the prophet’s message
“Kinsmen redeemer”.

We have gleaned a few handfuls of purpose here. Lets not loose them.
We are to glean only in HIS field, nowhere else is acceptable for only in
His field has He lain those handfuls of seed for us, and only in His field
are we safe. Leave that filed, wander from the Word of God and we run
the risk of being defiled.

9
We are also told to stay with the maidens of Boaz. Stay with the
church. Glean the seed from the word by the message and find those
handfuls that He has placed there for us. Get ready, Wash yourselves!
Anoint yourselves! Put on the wedding garment! Get down to the
threshing floor for the time has come for Jesus to separate the wheat
from the chaff. Are we wheat? Are we Bride? Are we going to be like
Ruth and keep pressing forth looking for our redeemer or be like Orpah
who was content to go back to the gods of the gentiles?

Have you been gleaning with the maidens in the field? Have you found
the handfuls of purpose or do we just have an intellectual
understanding and knowledge of quotes? They are there waiting.
Revelation is waiting for you Ruth! Get to you master! The harvest is
ripe, Jesus is coming on that cloud with a sharp sickle, the Word of
God, to reap His bride away. You don’t want to be left for the other
reaper. He reaps the weeds and the thistles. We want to be bride, not
chaff, not thistles. We want to be Ruth, not Orpah.
