Product Description

Valve Construction

Our experience has shown that high pressure

valves are technically demanding and normally
expensive to purchase. The WEY knife gate
valve has proven that where reliability is an
important factor, our high pressure design maintains a high standard. Dependability is especially
important where abrasive media causes the seals
to breakdown quickly, leading them to leak and
become unserviceable before their time. Thanks
to the seal design and the shape of the blade,
the WEY knife gate valve is relatively insensitive
to temperature changes. Another advantage of
the type HD is the shorter face to face dimension,
and the price advantage for sizes larger than
DN 200.

for your particular application:

The valve is not subject to deposit build-up,

and has a self-cleaning action.

Chemical/Petrochemical Industry:
The WEY HD Valve is well suited for handling
industry media such as drilling mud, return
mud, low toxic oil, and seawater. The valve
works especially well for variable liquid heads
with fluid densities up to 1690 kg/m3.

The elastic seals are easily replaced. Replacement can be accomplished without a total
dismantling and re-assembly.

Power Station Applications:

The WEY HD Valve can handle applications
with pure water.

Full round bore opening with concentric internal construction permits cleaning by pipe
pigging.

Sewage Plant Applications:

The WEY HD Valve can easily handle slurry
liquids (sludge) with a 30 to 40 % solids content.
General Applications:
The WEY HD Valve is ideally suited for high
pressure applications with a thick or dry media,
and with nominal pressures of up to 100 bar,
and temperatures of up to 250 C.

The valve has an automatic sealing effect.

The higher the pressure, the better the seal.
