MY JOB AS A WEB DESIGNER

This projcet work of website of M.D.S.D. Girls
College is prepared by myself along with my team
members. This website is a team work of our own
efforts. We did all the work with full coordination.
We did one month job training in vita plant. We
also keep in touch to our college. Where we get the
technical
support
from
college
staff
and
information from the M.D.S.D. staff. We also saw
various sites on net and collect the requirement
data and ideas from the various sites. After getting
all the information and data we prepared a static
website of M.D.S.D, Ambala City.

Importance Of WebSite Usability

If visitor cant use your site, they will leave and
never become coustomers. A user unfriendly site
simply irritates a consumer there by creating
obstacles in psychological buying process of the
buyer. There is far too much choice on the net so a
badly designed website simply loses customers. It's
a buyers market on the net. The freedom available
to the buyers is abundant. A user unfriendly site
simply doesn't give any reason to the buyer to
come back to the site. Some more facts about
website usability.

1. Don't Make Me Think

Chant this mantar 11 times. I have no mind so
please don't make me think. Remember "the
website user is a dumb peron". Make the website
navigation in such a way that the user is dump and
you have to lead him to where you want. How fast
or how easy you to lead him to where you want.
How fast or how easy you make him do it is up to
you.

2. The Rule Of Satisfies:

The rule of satisfies means the first reaction.
Suppose a dump was to drop at the place you are
sitting right now.
25
WWW .indianfashion.com

Your instant reaction would be to do th frist thing

that comes to your mind be it jumping from the
window or screaming. What's to be noted is you do
not take a logical decision based on the if-then
principle. Now a website is similar. A website
bombards information through text, graphics and
a user just clicks on what attracts his eyes frist. He
doesn't make a conscious planned decision
(Navigation).

3.Define

Your Target Market:

A site aimed at kinds would have difficult

navigation and design the one designed for lets say
techies. Tetchiness would playa very curcial part in
the design for kind's site.

WEBSITE USABILITY

It is generally advised to have usability tests in tile

design stage. It saves previous capital and time.
Yet all is not cost and there are ways of improving
usability. Website usability can be quantitaively
measured. In the academic environment usability
lies within the remit of researcliers working in tile
discipline of human-computer interaction(Hci), an
area that has seem considerable growth within the
fast decade. Usability is all about making websites
intuitive to use, easy to learn and satisfying to use.
Through research in the HCI unit at the university
of lupton, and collaboration with a number of web
design agencies, three approaches live been found
particularly
suitable
for
web-site
usability
evaluation.
Usability Comparison Test

Assuming that competitors (or at feast similar)

sites are available, usability comparisons tests
should be undertaken. The analysis can benefit
from access to real end users and therefore a
quantitative approach to satisfaction can be
selected for specific sites.
Exeperts / Heuristic Evaluation
The user-based work should be supported by blind
HCI expert evaluation of three sites against
supplied heuristics. A range of heuristics are
available from key HCI gurus.

USER ENQUIRY SESSIONS

On its own a metric-based approach can only
highlight strength and weaknesses in the usablilty
outcomes, rather that the causes that are inherent
within the design. Many of these can be obtained
through expert/heuristic evaluation, but studies
show that often only the minority of the problem
that user encounter are detected by such an
approach. It is possible to undertake a technique
developed jointly at the university of lupton and
the open university, known as developer-user
contextual enquiry (DUCE) sessions to elicit the

major design modifications for the site. Within the

approach developed, two distinct activities are
provided: Development-user contextual enquiry
(DUCE) sessions-in which, by interacting with the
site and verbalizing their experience, user are
given the opportunities to provide evidence
relating to the overall usability of the system. Team
evidence analysis (TEA) sessions-in which the
evidence captured in the DUCE session is refined
by a team of developers into a number of design
improvements.

FEASIBILITY STUDY
Behavioral Feasibility:
It means how the user interaction is defind. If the

system is user friendly and easy to operate than its

behavioral feasibility is satisfied.

Technical Feasibility: Proposed system required

following things which are as follows:
A. Purpose of system used.
B. RAM used-Memory capacity depends upon
number of addrees lines available in PV/AT
804886.32 Bit-address capacity is available
resulting in 16 MB memory capacities.
C. Hard disk-the system is euipped with one hard
disk of different capacities.
D. Operating system-Disk operating is single usre
operating system. Various D.S available in the
market are M.S.DOS consists of three important
system file visibilities. The three a fore said files
are important to book a personal computer 10
system manage all input and output operation.

command of M.S.DOS.
E. Print is an output device that is attached to a
computer system.
F. Basically every printer is mechanical device & is
controlled by electric circuit the various parts in the
assembly of a printer. Since all the consideration
maturity the technical specialization is available,
therefore proposed system is technically feasible.

Economical Feasibility:
Economic analysis is the most frequently used
method for evaluating the effectiveness of the
system more commonly known as Cost/Benefit
Analysis. The procedure is used to determine the
benefit over the way cost the decision is made to
design and implement the system otherwise
further justification or alteration in the proposed
system will have to be made. Less the manpower
requires. Less is time consumed for transaction,
this give higher user satisfaction.
