Chinese Government Scholarships 2016/2017


Applications are invited from qualified Tanzanians for Masters and Doctorate
degree programmes tenable in the Peoples Republic of China for the academic
year 2016/2017.
1. Field of Study
a) Masters in:
Paediatrics;
Nursing;
Information and Communication Technology;
Electronic Engineering;
Environmental Science;
Pharmacy;
Medicine;
Agriculture and Rural Development;
Agribusiness and Agro-processing;
Oil and Gas Engineering/Technology;
Transport and Logistics; and
Tourism and Hospitality Management.
b) Doctorate in:
a. Cardiology;
b. Pharmacy;
c. Agriculture;
d. Oil and Gas Engineering/Technology; and
e. Macro-economics.

2. Qualifications
Applicants for the Masters scholarships must:
Have a bachelors degree with a GPA of not less than 3.5 ( except
health sciences);
Submit academic certificates and transcripts of Bachelors degrees;
Be not more than 35 years of age by September, 2016; and
Be in good health.
Applicants for the Doctorate scholarships must:
Have a Masters degree with a GPA of not less than 3.5 or an average
of B or above;
Submit academic certificates and transcripts of Bachelors and
Masters degrees;
Be not more than 40 years of age by September, 2016;
Be in good health.
3. Mode of application:
All applications are required to personally apply using application forms
available online under Chinese Government Scholarship
(http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org) and the
Agency number is 8341. Completely filled form must be printed in duplicate
and submitted together with the following attachments:
Two copies certified academic transcripts;
Study plan or research proposal (minimum of 800 words);
Two letters of recommendations from professors or associate
professors;
Two copies of Foreigner Physical Examination Form filled in
English (bearing a signature of attending physician, the official
stamp of the hospital and a sealed photograph of the applicant);
Copies of birth certificate or related documents; and
Applicants with Admission letters from designated universities
should enclose them in the application package.

Applicants must indicate their reliable contacts i.e telephone numbers and email address;
Those who secured loans from Higher Education Students Loans Board must
have started re-payment of granted loans (evidence must be attached).
4. Successful applicants
Successful applicants will have to:
a) Purchase their own air ticket to the designated institutions in China.
Needy students may apply for loan to purchase air tickets from the
Higher Education Students Loans Board.
b) Candidates who wish to travel back to Tanzania on private basis shall
be required to pay for their own air ticket. The Chinese Government
will provide air ticket for homeward journey after completion of
studies.

6. Deadline
Please note the deadline for the submission of applicants for the Masters and
Doctorate programmes is 15th March 2016. Applications submitted after the
deadline will not be considered.
