After completing this course the student must demonstrate the knowledge and ability

to:
Associate and apply the concept and principle of unit commitment and optimal
operation of power plants.
Estimate the interconnection of power systems networks with two or more
streams.
Assess various methods to obtain the economic operation.
Proficient in load frequency control of single area and two area networks,
Identify the steady state and dynamic performance of I area LFC and II area
LFC.
Analyze and perform the tasks of modeling the generator, turbine, and speed
governor.
Compute reactive power control in transmission lines and compensation of
reactive power.

Understand the interconnection of power systems networks with two or more


streams, and
various methods of unit commitment , optimal operation of power plants ,
modeling and
controlling of various power system components.

Assess various methods to obtain the economic operation for inter connected
power systems.
Proficient in load frequency control of single area and two area networks and
analyze the steady state and dynamic performance of I area LFC and II area
LFC.
Compute the reactive power flow, control and compensation of reactive power
in transmission
lines

PEO'S :
PEO I: To provide graduates with a good foundation in mathematics, sciences
and engineering fundamentals required to solve engineering problems that will
facilitate them to find employment in industry and / or to pursue postgraduate
studies with an appreciation for lifelong learning.

Electronics Engineering.
