First of all, the writer would like to express the deepent praise to Allah SWT,
who was given her knowledge, healthy, and opportunity. So that what, she can finish this
thesis, then has best regard, praise and loves to our beloved phopet Muhammad SAW,
his family and companies.
The writer would like to thank to his supervious namely Mrs. Usni Elywati,
M.Pd and Mr. Muhibuddin, M.Pd who have helped and guided her in preparing and
writing this tesis and all English lectures and her friends who have encouraged her
during her studying at English ministry still the finished to degree of Sarjana of teacher
training and education faculty, Samudra University of Langsa.
Besides that the writer would like to thanks also to headmaster of MTs Harapan
Mutyara, who served kindly and permitted her to collect the data at MTs Harapan
Mutyara.
Finally the writer hardly find the correct word, how to thanks to her beloved
young brothers and young sister for their help, petience and earnest concern for her to

AN ANALYSES OF STUDENTS ABILITY IN IDENTIFYING ABSTRACT


FROM ADJECTIVE BASED ON AFFIXATION OF MTs HARAPAN MUTYARA

This thesis deals with the students ability in identifying abstract noun from adjective
based on affixation. It is intended to find out the students ability in identifying abstract
from adjective based on affixation. To obtain the valid data for this thesis, the study
carried out at MTs Harapan Mutyara. In this research, the writer conducted library
research to collect theories opinion and so forth. The writer also conducted field research
to gain valid data by using four techniques : observation, interview, test and
experimental teaching. The population of this research were the students and teacher of
MTs Harapan Mutyara especially for seventh grade students. The sample of the research
was the VII class as many as 8 students. The writer conducted twice test to investigate
the students ability in identifying abstract noun from adjective based on affixation. The
last test was 7 students got very good score (80-100) and the lowest score was 70. From
the result, the writer conclude that the students are able to identify abstract noun from
adjective based on affixation because there is score improvement in last test that the
writer gave and the result of this research is good. The writer also suggested the teacher
to increase the students interest and motivation in larning English, so that the teaching
target could be reached well.
